City Winery Chicago, 1200 W. Randolph Street, announces horn-based soul band Tower of Power, the return of actress and comedian Sandra Bernhard for two performances, New Orleans-based The Dirty Dozen Brass Band on their 40th anniversary tour and more. The following shows go on sale to the public on Thursday, March 30 at noon at citywinery.com/chicago.

Bluegrass Brunch - featuring Sunnyside Up with Jess McIntosh & AaRon Smith

Sunnyside Up has been playing around Chicago for over ten years and has a collective wealth of experience with bluegrass, rock and jazz. From hard driving to hard swinging to getting funky, this band has all bases covered. The group's most recent release, Homebound Tracks, is a mixture of old and new bluegrass and traditional music. Sunnyside Up is joined by Chicagoans and multi-instrumentalists Jess McIntosh and AaRon Smith, performing traditional, old-time and original material in tenacious harmony. McIntosh primarily plays fiddle with Smith on banjo.

The Capitol Steps

The Capitol Steps began as a group of Senate staffers who set out to satirize the very people and places that employed them. The group was born in December 1981 when some staffers for Senator Charles Percy were planning entertainment for a Christmas party. Their first idea was to stage a nativity play, but in the whole Congress they couldn't find three wise men or a virgin. So, they decided to dig into the headlines of the day and they created song parodies & skits which conveyed a special brand of satirical humor. In the years that followed, many of the Steps ignored the conventional wisdom ("Don't quit your day job!") and, although not all the current members of the Steps are former Capitol Hill staffers, in total, the performers have worked in a total of eighteen Congressional offices and represent 62 years of collective House and Senate staff experience. Since they began, The Capitol Steps have recorded more than 30 albums, the most recent of which is What to Expect When You're Electing. They've been featured on NBC, CBS, ABC and PBS and can be heard twice a year on National Public Radio stations nationwide during their Politics Takes a Holiday radio special.

Sandra Monica Blvd: Coast to Coast takes the audience on a journey to find the soul of America while weaving in the soundtrack you might hear on an AM radio station you pick up from Oklahoma.

Tower of Power was formed in 1968 in Oakland and has become one of the most recognized R&B horn bands in the U.S. Over the years, the group has recorded with hundreds of artists as diverse as Aerosmith, Elton John, Little Feat, Phish, Santana, Heart and many others, forever infusing the radio airwaves with Tower's musical DNA. Each year they tour the United States, Japan and Europe, playing to sold out crowds all over the world. This year, the band plans to release a new album to celebrate its 50th anniversary.

City Winery also announces Wanda Jackson's Saturday, April 1 concert has been rescheduled to Wednesday, May 17. Tickets already purchased will be honored at the May 17 performance.

Connor Kennedy opens for Amy Helm & the Handsome Strangers on May 14.
