Death By Stereo will play Sunday, July 1, 2012 (Doors 7:00 PM / Show 8:00 PM) at Knitting Factory Brooklyn, 361 Metropolitan Ave, Brooklyn, NY 11211.

Formed in Orange County California in 1996, Death By Stereo have been a staple of the hardcore community for years, in part due to their noted live shows filled with unrelenting passion, intensity and a strong sense of having fun.

Taking their name from a quote from the movie “The Lost Boys” the band released a slew of demos before releasing their debut record “If Looks Could Kill, I’d Watch You Die” In 1998, with 5 additional records released. Since then, they’ve had numerous lineup changes with singer / guitarist Eferm Schultz remaining the one constant. However, having a never give up attitude, they recruited new blood, and currently have longtime guitarist Dan Palmer, rhythm guitarist JP Gerike bassist Paul Miner and drummer Mike Cambra. It was this lineup that recorded and released the band’s sixth album, “Black Sheep Of The American Dream” released in April 2012.

While they fit closest with the hardcore genre, they are far more than that. Combining a sense of hardcore, punk and metal, Death By Stereo provides a little bit of everything for fan of loud and fast music. However, melody was never lost on them- despite aggressive guitars and very mosh friendly music, they were able to sing catchy hooks and vocal melodies that can get stuck in your head for days.
