Graeme Innes Pens PLATYPUS DREAMING
by BWW News Desk - July 30, 2015
In his recently released book, 'Platypus Dreaming,' (published by Xlibris AU) author Graeme Innes shows a language hijacked, the words used as colonizing swords rather than fulfilling their function as soul food. Designed to spark the mind and ignite individually useless snippets of experience, more and more, Innes argues that words have become the limiting, self-constructed bars to an asphyxiating, fireproof jail of social tyranny.

Poet Jonathan Goh Launches ELUDORAN
by BWW News Desk - July 30, 2015
Poet Jonathan Goh's recent publication, 'Eludoran: The Legend of Lorelei in a Geste of Grave Misconceptions' (published by Partridge Singapore) has earned the distinction of longest fantasy rhyming poem ever written in Singapore. Dedicated as a tribute to his late grandfather, 'Eludoran' is a commentary of stereotypical fantasy fiction comprising three acts in 44 chapters. This numbering is not a coincidence; it is intended as a subtle reference of its subject matter since the number four in Chinese cultures is synonymous with death. Inspired by the works of earlier fantasy authors such as J.R.R. Tolkien and Brian Jacques, 'Eludoran' offers its audience a darker perspective into the world of animal fantasy.

Heather Jacks Announces Upcoming Release of Coffee Books on San Francisco History
by BWW News Desk - July 30, 2015
The noted author Heather Jacks has announced that she is currently working on two different coffee table books that are designed to showcase and preserve unique pieces of San Francisco's history. In her first book, 'The Noise Beneath the Apple,' Jacks explored and celebrated the spirit of street performance within New York City. Her book also won the 'Book of the Year Award' in the Performing Arts & Media category. For one of her upcoming books, Jacks has drawn inspiration from 'The Noise Beneath the Apple' and will showcase 25 street performers within the Bay Area including San Francisco, Oakland, Berkeley, Santa Cruz, and Napa Valley. Similar to the previous version, the new book will include film, music, stories, and photos. Her second book explores the story behind the San Francisco Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence, a leading order of queer nuns who began in 1979 and have turned into an international activist and charity organization. The Sisters continue to devote their lives to community service, human rights, and society outreach. Jacks believes they are an often misunderstood but integral part of San Francisco culture. 'I hope that these projects enable cultural preservation,' said Jacks. 'Each time we lose a piece of our culture, whether it is through economics, legislation, or gentrification; we lose a piece of our humanity.' To offset some of the costs associated with producing her two new books, Jacks will be hosting a fundraising launch party which will include food, drinks, live music, raffles, a photo booth and more. During the event, Jacks will launch her online crowdfunding campaign. It will take place at Cafe Flore, 2298 Market Street, on the corner of Market and Castro Street in San Francisco from 7:00pm to 11:00pm on Wednesday October 14, 2015. S F Chapman Release New Genetic Engineering Science Fiction Novel
by BWW News Desk - July 30, 2015
Striped Cat Press and author, S F Chapman are pleased to announce the of their science fiction novel, 'Floyd 5.136,' which is a thought-provoking genetic engineering story. Who was she? Floyd stared with great interest at the slumbering young woman as she was slowly freed from the silky gray cocoon. She was quite striking Floyd realized. But more importantly, she was the first new person to be generated in more than fifteen thousand years. For eons, the strange fibrous life form known as 'The Cotton' had regularly produced nearly innumerable copies of the same seven people. The group members lived rather ordinary lives and, when old age or accidents interceded, died ordinary deaths. But Floyd and his companions always started out in the same very unusual and unhuman-like way as cocoon-bound twenty-five year old adults in full possession of their past memories. Everything would change with the arrival of the intriguing young woman. Floyd 5.136 is available in both print and ebook formats. Book Details: 'Floyd 5.136' The MAC Series, Book 1 By S F Chapman Publisher: Striped Cat Press Published: April 2015 ISBN: 978-0996223607 ASIN: B00VDPN1KW Pages: 302 Genre: Science Fiction, Genetic Engineering Fiction About The Author: After many years of work in the construction industry, S F Chapman returned to his long neglected passion for writing. A persistent reader of fiction, periodicals and science magazines with an extensive memory for interesting and obscure tidbits, the lifelong resident of the San Francisco Bay Area has just finished up composing eight novels in five short years. He put his grand plan into effect during the summer of 2009 by writing a science fiction novel called 'Floyd 5.136.' This innovative first project is an often-frightening tale of human clones from the mid twenty-first century unwittingly trapped in a strange world in the far future. Since then he has completed a gritty drama entitled 'On the Back of the Beast' about a huge earthquake that destroys much of Northern California. Mr. Chapman has written two sequels to 'Floyd 5.136' called 'Xea in the Library of All Human Knowledge' and 'Beyond the Habitable Limit.' His Science Fiction Detective/Adventure 'Free City Series' currently consists of two volumes: 'The Ripple in Space-Time,' and the recently published 'Torn From On High.' The author has also produced two literary fiction novels: 'I'm here to help' about a series of minor deceptions and unremarkable errors that lead to a most extraordinary conclusion, the unintended adoption of a newborn girl and the newly completed novel about homelessness called 'The Missive in the Margins.' HOW TO TRANSFORM YOUR LIFE IN 14 DAYS is Released
by BWW News Desk - July 29, 2015
There are many books out there, so who needs yet another personal development book? The author of How to Transform your Life in 14 Days didn't want to just add yet another personal development book to the already busy shelves, but wanted to share her own experience and tips, which she used herself to go from a less than desirable life with much physical, emotional and financial struggles to a life of ease that most can only dream of. Sylviane Nuccio, CPC is not new to writing or to personal development. Her main two niches in which she became an expert with knowledge and practice are the law of attraction and the subconscious mind. As a writer she has written over a dozen tutorials and online books as well as thousands of articles about over a hundred topics. But when it comes to personal development, she really speaks from deep down inside, being someone who has lived through hard times, and knows from her own experience that her tips can help people better their life. 'How to Transform your Life in 14 Days - A Step by Step Guide to Change your Mind Forever' was written with the broke family who has a hard time to make ends meet, the desperate woman who lives with an abuser, but feels stuck because she has no money and no family support, and whomever finds themselves in a bad place, looking for a way out, in mind. Each step of the book is to be practiced for two days straight before going to the next. However, the author recommends to read the book fully one time before reading it again while doing the steps the second time around. 'How to Transform your Life in 14 Days' was written to help the reader to get knowledge of essential information for better success and take action based on such knowledge.
