What was it like growing up in the hippy generation? Take a hilarious look as the author weaves his own experiences as they played out in the fabulous '50s all the way through the tumultuous swinging '60s. Discover the real meaning of flower power and "make love not war", as the Fab Four Beatles conquered America.

Welcome to Bizzarma (bizarre-ma)! Paralleling the momentous events of the '60s with his own strange experiences, the author flies through the cuckoo's nest on an easy rider motorcycle, only to crash land in 1970 with his confinement in Los Angeles County General Hospital's maximum security mental ward. A month shy of his 18th birthday, he believes he is the promoter of a Woodstock West festival that will star the biggest names in rock music. Everyone wants to believe him, because who wouldn't want to meet The Beatles?

About the Author: Douglas B. Wood came of age with the hippie generation of the sixties. As a lifelong musician, some of his younger bandmates would ask him what it was like living In those years. Unable to steer them to a book or movie that he felt covered the era adequately, he decided to put down in writing his own uncanny experiences of being raised during that magical era. Find out what it was like when JFK was assassinated, when the Beatles first appeared on Ed Sullivan, and what impact Mohammed Ali had on anti-war resistors. Learn what "free love" and "flower power" really means. It's all in "Bizzarma (bizarre karma) or How I Became a Hippy Without Really Trying."

The compelling new book BIZZARMA: HOW I BECAME A HIPPY WITHOUT REALLY TRYING is now available for $11.95 and can be ordered through at Amazon.com.
