Kenny Awards Nominees Announced

Shea's Performing Arts Center and The Lipke Foundation announced the nominees for the 25th annual Kenny Awards in 14 award categories. Nearly 200 students and educators from the 10 finalist schools attended the announcement live at Shea's Smith Theatre. The announcement was also aired live on Shea's Performing Arts Center's Facebook page.

Ticket Lottery To Be Held For RENT 20th Anniversary Tour

RBTL's Auditorium Theatre announced today that a limited number of orchestra level seats will be available via lottery for $23* for every performance of RENT, the Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award-winning musical. Two hours prior to each performance, people who present themselves at the box office may place their names in a lottery drum; thirty minutes later, winning names will be drawn for the chance to purchase up to two lottery tickets for just $23 each. (*The $23 ticket price is inclusive of fees.)

Road Less Traveled Productions (RLTP) concludes its 2017/18 season with the topic of faith in its upcoming Western New York-premiere production of The Christians by Lucas Hnath. The Christians, nominated for 2016 Drama Desk Award for Outstanding Play, will star Dave Hayes, Aaron Moss, Steve Jakiel, Victoria Perez, and Lisa Vitrano under the direction of RLTP Artistic Director Scott Behrend. The production will also feature area choir members from various churches in WNY. Production team includes Karen Saxon (music director), Dyan Burlingame (set design), John Rickus (light design), Maura A. Simmonds-Price (costume design/props), John Shotwell (sound design). This April, the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra (RPO) breaks boundaries with the RPO debut of Rochester's award-winning PUSH Physical Theatre in a unique collaboration with the Orchestra and Principal Pops Conductor Jeff Tyzik. Breaking Boundaries with PUSH Physical Theatre on Friday and Saturday, April 13 & 14 at 8 p.m. in Kodak Hall at Eastman Theatre will feature PUSH's interpretations of Tyzik compositions including his New York Cityscapes and "Blue Funk," as well as works by other composers, in an evening that will "push" audiences' preconceptions of a symphonic concert.
