Shea's PAC Announces On-sale Date For Roald Dahl's CHARLIE AND THE CHOCOLATE FACTORY

Shea's Performing Arts Center announced today that tickets for Roald Dahl's Charlie and the Chocolate Factory will go on sale to the public on Thursday, July 19. A priority offer will begin at 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 17 and conclude at 10 p.m. Wednesday, July 18. To secure priority offer tickets, use the code FACTORY.

The engagement runs from Sept. 22 to 29, with a newly-added preview performance taking place at 8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 21 due to popular demand. Beginning Thursday, July 19, tickets will be available to the public at the Shea's Box Office at 646 Main St. and online at www.ticketmaster.com. To charge tickets, call 1-800-745-3000. Orders for groups of 10 or more may be placed by calling Mary Oshei at 716-829-1153.

Ticket buyers are reminded that Ticketmaster.com and the Shea's Box Office are the only official retail ticket outlets for all performances at Shea's Buffalo Theatre. Ticket buyers who purchase tickets from a ticket broker or any third party should be aware that Shea's PAC is unable to reprint or replace lost or stolen tickets and is unable to contact patrons with information regarding time changes or other pertinent updates regarding the performance.

Roald Dahl's Charlie and the Chocolate Factory will launch its national tour in Buffalo and will be teching at Shea's Buffalo Theatre in the preceding weeks. The show is directed by three-time Tony Award, Jack Obrien, featuring music by Grammy, Emmy and Tony Award winner Marc Shaiman, lyrics by Grammy and Tony Award winners Scott Wittman and Marc Shaiman, a book by Artistic Director of Edinburgh's Royal Lyceum theatre David Greig, choreography by Tony Award nominee and Emmy Award winner Joshua Bergasse and includes additional songs by Leslie Bricusse and Anthony Newley from the 1971 Warner Bros. motion picture.

Willy Wonka is opening his marvelous and mysterious chocolate factory...to a lucky few. Roald Dahl's CHARLIE AND THE CHOCOLATE FACTORY features scenic and costume design by five-time Tony Award nominee Mark Thompson, lighting design by four-time Tony Award nominee Japhy Weideman, sound design by Andrew Keister, projection design by Jeff Sugg, puppet and illusion design by Obie and Drama Desk Award winner Basil Twist, orchestrations by three-time Tony Award winner Doug Besterman and music supervision by Nicholas Skilbeck.

The hit Broadway musical features songs from the original film, including "Pure Imagination," "The Candy Man," and "I've Got a Golden Ticket," alongside a toe-tapping and ear-tickling new score from the songwriters from Hairspray.
