American Opera Project Cancels March Performances Due to COVID-19

American Opera Project has just released the following statement in regards to future programming:

As most of you are aware, venues, schools, and other places of large gatherings throughout the city, and around the country, are prudently closing their doors.

Given the news, we unfortunately have no choice but to cancel our remaining performances this month. Refunds will be available through the box office by which your tickets were purchased. Ticket exchanges for The AOP Mixtape event on March 26 will be available through Joe's Pub to the rescheduled date of August 27

Our partner venues have asked for your patience as they contact ticket holders to issue refunds. Please give them several days to process them or contact you.

We thank you for your messages of support and concern and we are thinking of you as well.

Our thoughts are especially with the many, many artists and contracted staff in our industry facing immediate unemployment.

We ask you to please consider a donation in the amount of a ticket to help us through this difficult economic time.
