Depends on the casting. They just revived it not too long ago.

Just booked to see the London production next weekend. Get ready though, I can already predict the cheapest ticket price for this on Broadway (whatever theatre it may be going into) will be just below $200. Table seats will probably be like $500 or more. Again, I could be wrong, but with what Broadway prices are like today, this will be a VERY EXPENSIVE ticket!

The idea is to work and to experiment. Some things will be creatively successful, some things will succeed at the box office, and some things will only - which is the biggest only - teach you things that see the future. And they're probably as valuable as any of your successes. -Harold Prince

When I was in college back in 2002, my friend and I volunteer ushered at Cabaret at Studio54 every few months just to see it since we couldn’t afford to buy tickets. In the 2014 revival, we splurged and bought table seats in orch and I recall tix cost us $162 each. Worth every penny!

I doubt this production will be Roundabout so forget the volunteer usher option. Hopefully rush will be available. Depending on the cast, I’d be willing to pay for a table seat again (only after watching it through rush/SRO first)

I am intrigued to see who is playing Sally in this transfer.  I am hoping it is someone who can absolutely deliver the goods and perhaps not just a “name” to fill seats. (Yeah, it is likely but a man can dream.)

Why wouldn’t Jessie Buckley do this on Broadway?

“Why wouldn’t Jessie Buckley do this on Broadway?”

because she has other things to do?

I’m hearing that it’s not Jessie, but Eddie Redmayne yes

I’d love to see Kaley Cuoco play the role a few Sallys down the line. She’s a lot better actress than some of her work gives her credit but she seems to be slowly turning that around.

Slightly off-topic, but I really hope the rumored Spider Woman revival is still a ways off and doesn't try to compete with this. Cabaret is possibly my favorite musical of all time, but it feels like hardly a month goes by without some major regional production being announced. While I wouldn't say it's 'over exposed', since its message is so important, it certainly has been in the spotlight. I'd love to see other equally potent Kander and Ebb shows, like Spider Woman, get their chance.

I have one wish for this transfer and it's Carolee Carmello as Schneider so she can finally get that Tony!!!!!!

What other things does she have to do?  What could possibly be better than playing Sally Bowls on Broadway in a highly acclaimed production that would undoubtedly be a huge hit.

Jessice Buckley is an Oscar nominated film actress who just won a whole slew of other honors this past year for her performance in Women Talking. She's very in demand in the film world currently, so it's far from shocking she's not coming along.

It could be personal reasons, perhaps some time off after a busy couple of years, since she's also just dropped out of a promising looking film (Hot Milk) with a great cast. That, or it's the run-up to a big-budget gig.

Plus there is the possibility the producers don't want her and want someone more reliable.  Especially as refunds for stars being out are more of a rule on broadway.

She was out more and more as her London run went on and it got harder and harder to see her. This was also well documented on Theatreboard at the time.

I hardly believe she was passed because of attendance, the amount of people who ask for a refund because of Jessie Buckley is basically zero.

Eddie Redmayne is the draw here.

I’d request a refund if she were out. Especially at those prices.

I would love to see Micaela Diamond take on Sally.

Same here but sadly, vocally she wouldn’t be showcased, but at least her acting chops will be on full display. Sally Bowles doesn’t require great vocal skills which is why CABARET is famous for casting strong actresses who can at least stay in pitch. Sally is a third-rate singer in a third rate sleazy Berlin club. Many forget this.
