I guess people are finally getting word A Beautiful Noise is actually a beautiful mess of a show.
In our millions, in our billions, we are most powerful when we stand together. TW4C unwaveringly joins the worldwide masses, for we know our liberation is inseparably bound.

As expected, most shows received a bump for Thanksgiving week… but interesting that Leopoldstadt and A Beautiful Noise both lost money, when they’ve impressed otherwise thus far.
Life is the most precious gift in the world... embrace every moment
My guess is that seeing a lot of different shows' demographics playing out here.
Shows that appeal to a wealthier bridge-and-tunnel crowd (Leopoldstadt, Neil Diamond, Piano lesson) dropped because that crew either isn't interested in seeing shows Thanksgiving week, is out of town themselves, or maybe has family or friends in town who would rather see something more touristy if they're seeing something (last one a bit more of a stretch, but I'm pretty confident in the first two).
Meanwhile, there is a huge tourist surge, so shows like Lion King, Aladdin, Hamilton, Funny Girl, Harry Potter, and MJ surge. MJ and Funny Girl continue to amaze me. I think both are likely (MJ more) to hit $2 Million Christmas and/or New Year's Weeks.
Shows like Hadestown and Into the Woods could also be considered a sub-category of that, Theatre Tourists. The locals have seen them already, but I think they're probably top-of-the-list for theatre fans visiting the city, so they saw surges as well (although not as big as the touristy shows).
Odd numbers for A BEAUTIFUL NOISE. Their availability for most of December is limited, just bizarre they dropped so much on a holiday weekend.
Kimberly Akimbo seems to be gaining steam. Small cast, orchestra & set, those grosses should have them about breaking even now.
Kudos to Music Man for almost grossing $3 million despite Jackman missing 3 shows. YEAH MAX CLAYTON!
A Chorus Line revival played its final Broadway performance on August 17, 2008. The tour played its final performance on August 21, 2011. A new non-equity tour started in October 2012 played its final performance on March 23, 2013. Another non-equity tour launched on January 20, 2018. The tour ended its US run in Kansas City and then toured throughout Japan August & September 2018.
Does anyone know how they handled Lea's unscheduled absence? Do they refund people the difference between Lea ticket prices and Julie's? I would understand a understudy.. things happen. But I would be upset if I had paid $400.00 as opposed to the $90.00 that is typical for Julie Thursdays.

Agreed. Word of mouth on this is so strong I was really expecting it to be in the $800k realm at this point. Surprised to see Almost Famous out grossing it tbh

If you purchased directly from the show the box office will work with you. Unfortunately most tourists don't know to ask.
Phantom enters the $2mil+ club for only the fourth time ever - the previous three times have each been the final week of the year in 2017, 2018, and 2019 respectively.

Them and KPOP.

100% agree. I really wonder what its weekly operating budget is. As if its in the $400K-$450K range, its truly the little show that could, but if its actually $450K-$500K+ the show is like its someone dyeing of dehydration being given a thimble of water in the spirit of Thanksgiving.
Knowing David Stone's track record with producing little shows that could, I am guessing/hoping its nut is in the $400K-$450K range, but in the post covid protocols world that number could easily balloon. Note I am using David Stone's last musical at the Booth Next to Normal as a reference point, as its nut was under $250K a week, but then again that was 10 years ago, and was slightly smaller.
Another positive sign in term of Kimberly Akimbo building positive word of mouth is since last week that despite capacity being down 2% average prices are up 20% meaning audiences are arguably willing to pay more to see it. While yes last week was a Holiday, Kimberly Akimbo is not the type of musical that would get the massive bump from that. How much its grosses fall this week will truly tell how word of mouth is for the show.

I agree. I hate this for the show because I thoroughly enjoyed it and think it’s a splashy and effervescent musical that wasn’t necessarily pop or rock infused. My first guess was because maybe the source material has a not as strong draw for the younger crowd? When I was there the week before Thanksgiving, it was a predominantly older audience. Not that that’s a bad thing. Keeping my fingers crossed for Sugar, Josephine, and Daphne!
I'm going to offer a glass-half-full perspective on KPOP; I think it's encouraging that revenues have gone up, especially given that the production likely gave away a ton of tickets for press week. Attendance is an issue, of course, but it looks like the marketing team is making more of an effort to be visible.
