Standing Room is a perfect view at the Winter Garden. But I don't think I'd stand anywhere for $76.

Sadly, I'm sure people will pay it. If people will pay $700 to sit in premium seats, and what? $150 for the worst seats in the house? I'm sure plenty of people will be happy to pay $76 to stand at the rear orchestra (which offers a decent view).

Didn't China Doll also charge like $75 for SRO? Or maybe it was a little less.

Let's hope other popular shows don't follow-suit, but it sets an unfortunate precedent.

It's been really sad watching rush/SRO/lotto prices basically double over the past decade. It feels like we are watching rush tickets being slowly phased out, as the price gets closer and closer to what we often see on the lower end of regular discounts.

I won't do it because I sat in the cheapest balcony seat for $99 plus fees.

Absolutely disgusting. The greed is repugnant.

Especially for a show already raking in the big bucks!

If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it? These are DISCUSSION boards, not mutual admiration boards. Discussion only occurs when we are willing to hear what others are thinking, regardless of whether it is alignment to our own thoughts.

Price gouging at its "finest." So much for inclusion and accessibility.

This is a pretty gross precedent, but the greed from this production has verged on contempt for ticketbuyers for the entire run.

Greed. They’re already making $3 million a week.
$76 to stand for almost 3 hours? No thank you.

i do hope the house manager will let them sit in any empty seats (no shows) after intermission.

Not paying $76 to stand for any show!

A Chorus Line revival played its final Broadway performance on August 17, 2008. The tour played its final performance on August 21, 2011. A new non-equity tour started in October 2012 played its final performance on March 23, 2013. Another non-equity tour launched on January 20, 2018. The tour ended its US run in Kansas City and then toured throughout Japan August & September 2018.

I remember $20 SRO. Back in my visiting NYC for the weekend college days I did it for a number of shows.

Certain shows still have cheap SRO tickets. Come From Away was still $32 when they reopened. I believe Book of Mormon is still $27.

This revival was one of the worst I’ve seen 25 years of theater going, and to stand for this drivel AND pay almost 80 bucks?

I paid ~40 for SRO for BoM in February, was still very worth it.

If they really couldn’t live without making a joke out of the “76” thing, they could have said “$76 for a pair of standing room tickets so you and a friend can enjoy a trip to River City together” or something, which would end up with $38 per ticket - and still sell singles for $38 if people are attending alone.

But no, this is just classic greedy Scott bullsh|t.

I remember paying $20 SRO for PHANTOM back in 1990.

On the other hand --

"The Music Man is making available 10,000 tickets at just $20 each to New York City students, their families, and their teachers to help foster a love and appreciation for the arts by making Broadway more accessible. This broad effort is built around partnerships with the New York City Department of Education and a dozen local youth non-profits including Artists Striving to End Poverty, Art Start, Arts For All, Arthur Miller Foundation, On Broadway Performing Arts Training Program, Young People's Chorus of NYC, Education Through Music, Rosie's Theatre Kids, R Evolucion Latina, and Broadway Bridges.

That's foregone receipts of approximately USD 2,600,000 for 10,000 tickets priced at USD 260 (avg price USD 280 - USD 20)!

First off, management or ushers will NOT assist you in either finding or allowing you sit in an empty seat come intermission. Nor should they. Secondly, SRO has been selling out since day one. So, clearly there are people who are interested in seeing the show and spending that much money on standing room.

But, if you think that it’s crazy that people are nuts for paying that amount to stand, All I can say is that there’s a sucker born every minute
