My friends and I thought about it but will skip for now until warmer weather. Would hate to go wait in line for 3-4 hours in the freezing cold (predicted to be 28 degrees tomorrow morning) just for it to be cancelled before curtain.

From my jog this morning, it was cold out there! Currently 27 degrees but with wind chill it feels like 18 degrees! Kudos to those of you waiting out there in the rush line. Broadway is quite windy outside the winter garden. Stay warm and have a great time tonight!

So how many people showed up? How many seats and where were those seats located. Thanks.

Lots of people used to do that for Jersey Boys in like the first two years of the run (myself being one of theme), but it wasn't like that extreme.  I'd get up at like 3 or 4, catch the train to get to the box office by 6.  I'd assume there were some who did that for Rent as well.  Only downside is if you didn't sleep enough prior to that.  Me and my ex got up super early to rush Once, got the tickets, and during the show, I started doozing off (not falling asleep but closing my eyes alot to the point my ex like elbowed me).

Woof. Let's see how this keeps going. I may want to wait till it's a bit warmer out in the mornings.

The Hello Dolly rush line had people showing up at 3 and 4 in the morning as well. I’m sure this will be equally as popular.

At its peak, HAMILTON folx were lining up 36-48 hours prior -- so this is nothing...

I was just thinking about this. And how people used to hire line sitters… oyyyy. The earliest I’ve ever gotten in line was at 6am for Once; similarly to JBellan87, my cousin and I got up around 3am, hopped on a 4am bus and were in line by 6. We weren’t even first in line! Luckily for us, it was summer so the temps were somewhat bearable! Lol.

Was planning on going this morning and woke up with a slight sore throat and runny nose and thought, "let's sit this one out for now." The show will be there for a little while. It's probably allergies (our trees just dropped all their leaves). But why risk it.

I know what you mean. I think this show will at the very least be here for a year. I plan to rush sometime in May/June when it's warmer.

I rushed for SCHOOL OF ROCK 5 years ago in January and it was FREEZING cold! I waited 4 hours and the seats were in extreme side mezz.

I'm glad for this production it's in orchestra 3rd row! Wow! They'll be sitting next to folks who paid $699!

They didn't ever identify WHERE in the 3rd row it was. Most likely the extreme sides of it where it sucks. Those people did not pay 700 dollars. If the ticket is in fact for Center Orchestra, then lucky them.

Incorrect.  Even if they are the last seats on the far ends (which are fine - I sat there for BEETLEJUICE), the people right next to them towards the center ARE paying around $700.

Anyone know which way the line forms? Doors closest to the ticket windows or furthest from ticket windows?

How much do rush seats cost? I saw Mamma Mia from sides and felt complete left out of the action.

Just go stand behind the other person already there.  Hahaha.  I’m sure there’ll be someone getting there at 3am, unless you’re THAT person.

Very gracious of this production to allow the poors to wait for hours in the cold for bad seats.

Yes, because they are FORCING people to wait in those lines? Your bitterness towards this production is just sad.

^But at least at the end of it, they get to actually see the show (most likely). I'll take that any day over a virtually un-winnable digital lottery, or as the case sometimes is, no cheap tickets at all.

But yes, it would be nice if Broadway prices weren't such that this sort of thing is necessary.

The ticket prices are SAD.

Theater is a privilege and luxury, that's the reality. If you cannot afford a ticket you cannot go. Just like with anything else in life.

And the ticket prices are not sad at all and people are very happy to pay for such a great experience according to the insane ticket sales.

It’s almost like you’ve never heard of rushing a show or something.
