I spoke with a cast member tonight and it doesn’t look like they’ll be extending any further.

Yea, I asked my agent friend with a client in the show and he said no further extension

What are the odds we might get a cast album? We probably don't need one as the two we've got are pretty definitive and it doesn't appear there's any changes to document... but that cast! I want one badly.

The last 15 minutes are a real stunner

I could easily see this transferring, also even thought their are two recordings, the last one was over 15 years ago, I am sure with this cast involved the money would easily be found

Just got an email that Assassins has been extended until January 29

You're late to the party. That was announced last Tuesday 11/9, and tickets went on sale last Thursday 11/11. They've been sold out since then.

Well, that was really dumb of Ticket Central to send the email at 10:13 this morning. I haven't been paying attention to the extension announcements since I am a CSC member and have had my tickets secured for quite a while now.

I got that email too and was very confused. I’m not sure why they’re continuing to advertise something you have no way of getting in and seeing.

I hit the buy tickets button in the email and there was one ticket for tonight’s show.  Everything else was sold out.  I blinked and it was gone.

I saw this tonite. First would like to say that I have never seen previous productions or heard the music before. So I don’t have anything to compare.

there were about 10-14 seats empty.

I really believe almost all seats have actors back at some point. It didn’t really bother me from second row.

I have to laugh after reading comments here. Since, After “something just broke” I was like what was point of that. Glad that I’m not only one that doesn’t like song where is placed.  Felt like it slow the pace down.

performances, everyone was pretty great, however, stand out for me was Will Swenson. If this was on Broadway I would of said ToNy. There’s a part where he just walks without saying much and audience loses it laughing.

"Something Just Broke"

"You can't overrate Bernadette Peters. She is such a genius. There's a moment in "Too Many Mornings" and Bernadette doing 'I wore green the last time' - It's a voice that is just already given up - it is so sorrowful. Tragic. You can see from that moment the show is going to be headed into such dark territory and it hinges on this tiny throwaway moment of the voice." - Ben Brantley (2022) "Bernadette's whole, stunning performance [as Rose in Gypsy] galvanized the actors capable of letting loose with her. Bernadette's Rose did take its rightful place, but too late, and unseen by too many who should have seen it" Arthur Laurents (2009) "Sondheim's own favorite star performances? [Bernadette] Peters in ''Sunday in the Park,'' Lansbury in ''Sweeney Todd'' and ''obviously, Ethel was thrilling in 'Gypsy.'' Nytimes, 2000

I was standing in line to board a plane in Atlanta when I got the text.

I’ll remember it forever.

Ever since I first heard the song "Something Broke" I've connected it to his inevitable passing for some reason. Not trying to be a downer though.

I saw the show on Wednesday and was blown away. It wasn't perfect, but very few of the creative choices really made me go "what?" for lack of understanding, and nothing took me out of the moment.

I think I did notice a small lyric flub: During "Something Just Broke" the line "There are presidents who aren't worth a lot" was changed to "He's a president who isn't worth a lot" referring to Kennedy. This definitely isn't the original line and even seems contradictory, considering the rest of the song is about how monumental this event was because of the iconic status of Kennedy. Did anyone else hear this? Or did I mishear? Is this a permanent change?

Standout performances for me were Brendan Uranowitz as Czolgosz, although it seemed like they slowed down the Ballad of Czolgosz and I didn't like that as much as the original. His tears during his scene with Emma Goldman really moved me.

Ethan Slater's boyish looks really take him far with his role as the Balladeer, although I think his voice may have reminded me too much of Spongebob for me to really be moved by his performance as Oswald.

Apologies if this is slightly off topic, but I’m coming into town in a couple of weeks to see Assassins and am looking for good restaurant recommendations close to CSC. Thanks!

Casa Mono is about a 10 minute walk from CSC. Exceptional one star Michelin and for the quality, reasonably priced. Go as early as you can as they tend to take a little more time as dishes are made to order. Just inform them that you have an 8pm curtain.

Get a reservation if you can, but if not, arrive when they open and you can almost always get a spot at the bar surrounding the kitchen.

Is anyone actually winning the lottery for this?

My sister won it 2 weeks ago and I won it this weekend- not sure if I got lucky that tons of people were out of town, but we both won for Saturday evening performances, to both of our surprise. The seats were very different each time, we were house left the first time and I took a friend and was house right next, so basically opposite views of the stage.

The lottery depends on availability and whatever seats aren't sold. That being said, my two friends that have attended (on different dates) told me they were like 6 - 10 empty seats each time. It's really strange since it's "sold out" but never actually is.

Interesting. I've been to CSC multiple times, but never have inquired if there is a cancellation line or not.

I also saw several empty seats the night I went. I kept playing the lotto and losing, but now I regret it because I paid full price and I didn't enjoy the show one bit. To see a Broadway legend like Judy Kuhn saying "****" is not my idea of a fun night at the theater. Her talent wasted, on the other hand, when I saw her in Passion at this same theater, she was fabulous!
