Stephanie Torns will probably have a small stint as Jenna until the new Jenna comes
3 Options I have in mind are
- Lindsay Mendez (Would attract Broadway and Wicked fans to see Waitress again)
- Naya Rivera or Lea Michele (Glee)
- Laura Osnes (Very Popular on Broadway and has a new Hallmark movie coming out)
"
Well, Christine won't be replaced with either of those ladies as the tour is turning non union this fall...and while Waitress is great for the "quirky" types, who don't fit into cookie cutter type shows, I can't see any of the others in this somehow...certainly not Laura, she's much to pristine and perfect for Jenna, nor is her voice pop/rock enough. It'll be interesting for sure to find out who, this show is almost still running merely based on the "who will be next??" premise. Not that I want it to close, I love it so much, but I'm shocked it hasn't yet.
It could be Dwyer as the equity tour is ending soon. But she likely wouldn't join until September. Torns could fill in until then.
The tour ends August 18, so Dwyer could join as early as the 20th.
A Chorus Line revival played its final Broadway performance on August 17, 2008. The tour played its final performance on August 21, 2011. A new non-equity tour started in October 2012 played its final performance on March 23, 2013. Another non-equity tour launched on January 20, 2018. The tour ended its US run in Kansas City and then toured throughout Japan August & September 2018.
Shed also need to rehearse with the Broadway cast, so she couldn't replace immediately. I think its 2 weeks for replacement rehearsals. My expectation is that the show closes whener Todrick/Colleen are done, but I hope Im wrong. Still haven't been able to see this show. Anyone like Lindsey Mendez, Jackie Burns, or Jessica Vosk, or Chrstine Dwyer would make me buy a ticket for sure.

I can't remember if it was on here or some other social media platform, but I think I read somewhere that Vosk is rumored to be taking on the role at some point, I think I read in December. It honestly wouldn't surprise me. I think they'd sooner cast her than close, tbh.

Vosk has been very publicly voicing her desire to play Jenna, but nothing has ever been close to confirmed or rumored of an actual run.
I would imagine they let Stephanie Torns play until an early January 2020 closing, with Sara coming back for a couple of weeks sometime in that.

With Shoshana now leaving on July 21st, that's about a month before the stunt casting of Dawn and Ogie in August should hopefully get them through September. I'm still hoping for a country star as Jenna somewhere down the line.

I’ve been wanting Jennifer Nettles to play Jenna ever since I saw her in concert a couple years ago!
