They have every right to protest. If you're so concerned about wasted tax dollars, how do you feel about Trump's constant golf trips?

Poster doesn’t care about the golf trips. As he previously said on the Michael Moore thread, “TRUMP IS KING!”

If you’re so concerned about wasted tax dollars, what about all the taxpayer money used to fund those asinine “rallies” he routinely holds to make him feel good shout himself? Do you know how much travel, security, and venue costs are associated with that? Shall we calculate how many veterans we could help house with that money? How many homeless could be fed?
Rosie had a heart attack a few years ago. Since then, she has done wonderful work to help educate the public, especially women, about heart health. As a three-heart-attack survivor myself, my respect for her knows no bounds.
This afternoon, she was interviewed on MSNBC about tonight's protest. She is committed to equality for all, smart, articulate and funny....all the things Trump is not. Doesn't matter if he's "home". He will get their message. Knowing how much he hates Rosie, I'm waiting for his Tweet.

Nah, bro. Just an apostrophe. For you. Four of them. Trumpster scum.
Five apostrophes, actually. Not to mention the other punctuation errors. There's nothing else in that post worth noting. The actual content is redundant and pointless. Well, the bit about wasting tax dollars is amusing in its irony, I suppose, but it's mired in absolute nonsense.

Aside from the golf trips, I would imagine that every time he flies out to Dumbf***istan for one his fib-a-palooza rallies for his army of Cletuses, it probably costs the local taxpayers a good chunk of change for security.
On election day I had an appointment with my dentist, an Ivy League graduate, and her college educated assistant here on the south shore of Nassau County, a Manhattan bedroom community. Immediately congratulated them on finally having a woman president, and received cold stares in return.
What would prompt these two educated women in a moderate to liberal suburb to pass up voting for a woman to vote for Trump. The first real failure of our constitutional democracy to peacefully pass on power to someone with the intelligence and demeanor to hold the office.
At times I think that we are spending too much time taking easy shots at Trump, a soft target, and not spending enough time trying to learn why the election went the way it did. One lesson to be learned is to put no trust in opinion polls. Trump supporters are ashamed to admit out loud to someone who they are backing.

I'm not surprised. Long island is surprisingly conservative. I know more home-owners on Long Island are registered as Republicans than registered as Democrats. Most of the communities were created during "white flight" from the cities in the 1950s -- that attitude is ingrained into the communities years later. They lives in the suburbs because they hate "the city" and everything it stands for... despite being economically reliant on it. It's where wealthy people go to hide. And I'm speaking as someone who grew up there.
I think you describe the Nassau County of 20 years ago. The traditional movement of residents of Queens and Brooklyn to Nassau has continued, pushing conservative Republicans out east into Suffolk County. Registered Democrats outnumber registered Republicans and Clinton and Obama twice comfortably carried the County. The two most powerful political positions, County Executive and District Attorney, are in the hands of Democratic women.
But my point was not about the location of these two women as much as their educational and social status. If the exit polls were correct and 45 percent of women with four year college degrees voted for Trump, I would really want to understand why.

I'd ask you to think again on this portrait of Nassau. The margin for executive between Martins and Curran was 147,102 to 139,204. Between Santino (known crook) and Gillen, 80,214 to 77,946. These were hardly landslide wins for Dems. The town I work in voted overwhelmingly for Trump in 2016 and I know this because of the great work of the NYT and their breakdown map (540 to 255). One of my patients wears a "Remember Benghazi" bomber jacket when he picks up his scripts. I'm not that far from Jamaica, Queens.
(editing here to say I understand what you are saying but while Curran and Gillen are doing great work and I appreciate them as well as my own Dem state senator, part of this has to be seen in response to this "blue wave." There is no doubt in my mind Santino and Martins would have had a total edge if the 2016 pres election had gone differently. I personally wasn't paying much attention to Nassau politics before.)
Things are certainly different from the glory days of things like Levittown but let's not pretend Long Island is just like the rest of metro NY.
