A Chorus Line revival played its final Broadway performance on August 17, 2008. The tour played its final performance on August 21, 2011. A new non-equity tour started in October 2012 played its final performance on March 23, 2013. Another non-equity tour launched on January 20, 2018. The tour ended its US run in Kansas City and then toured throughout Japan August & September 2018.

This is crazy - As of this morning they have 1,163 backers and raised $192,150!
Backers are starting to comment now about the availability of tickets with that presale code. I personally backed at the $25 level to have access to it. They will undoubtedly sell out before the public sale and now there's certainly no guarantee that backers with the presale code will all be able to get tickets. Hopefully they consider a second night, if it's possible.

I WAS so looking forward to the Smash concert.
I love Smash and the score and I love The Actor's Fund of which I WAS a proud member.
They want me to pay money to maybe get a ticket?
I always thought everyone donated their time to Actor's Fund performances. Why do they need me to pay $50,000 and not even guarantee me seats? If they can't afford to mount a production, don't do it.
They overextended themselves so much allowing so many people to sign up for the presale they are going to disappoint so many people.
The worst thing is now they (and others) will do this more and more.
Bad job all the way around.

Posted: 3/12/15 at 2:53pmSo I was concerned about the presale this morning and I'm even more concerned now after getting an update email. They are allowing all backers with access to presale to buy FOUR tickets. That's going to get out of control and fast. Two tickets would be much more reasonable.

At this point (especially since it is more of a concert than a fleshed out show) I would just settle for the baseball hat and listening to the soundtrack before paying $50 to possibly get the chance to spend another $100 to buy a single ticket.
Yet I have to spend $65 for the hat (the $50 plus shipping). I know its for a good cause, and one day I will join their friends program, but today is not that day.

Posted: 3/12/15 at 4:42pmJust went on the Kickstarter and every donor level that has the pre-sale notification as a reward now says 'all gone'. I wonder if The Actor's Fund realized how crazy this was getting and is shutting down everything except the $10.00 donation option now.

they just posted a notice saying the following:
Attention Bombshell Kickstarter Backers!
The Actors Fund has posted an update with important information. Of particular note, "Due to the overwhelming response for this project, we cannot guarantee that everyone will be able to purchase a ticket." Based on the update, if you are planning a trip solely around this concert, we highly recommend holding off on making any travel arrangements until you know you have a ticket to the concert. If you have any additional questions or concerns not addressed by the Kickstarter updates, please direct them at The Actors Fund.
ETA: Just to clarify, this is just a concert of the music. According to Craig Meron, "It's just going to be a concert. There's nothing about it that resembles a show. It's one song after the next."
Good luck getting a ticket. I was going to try and get one when they went on sale, but the odds seem unlikely. And yes, this has the possibility to get out of control.

Posted: 3/12/15 at 6:52pma 2nd performance, at least at the Minskoff Theater, would be out. The Lion King has a performance on Sunday evening, the 7th, & Tuesday evening, the 9th.

Posted: 3/13/15 at 11:35pmI did cave to pay the $25 for the presale code. I get the money is going to a good cause. However, I will be slightly disappointed to have paid that money to end up not getting to see it. What I find frustrating as well is that everyone who donated $1000 or more is guaranteed at least 2 tickets, plus the sale code. So that could take more tickets away from people who will have none until they go on sale.

Not sure if the Actor's Fund just did something smart or dumb?
They scammed almost 1,000 people into paying $25 to MAYBE buy up to four tickets. When the on sale would happen and hundreds of fans were disappointed by not being able to buy tickets there was nothing they could do.
Now they have reduced the maybe purchase to 2 tickets, legally invalidating any pledge. So now everyone in the presale who does not secure up to 4 tickets can ask for their $25 back.
I see a class action suit on the horizon!

Not gonna lie, I am sort of surprised by how popular this is. I mean, where were all of these people when the show was failing on tv? Unless this is essentially most of the audience.
Anyway, 3 years ago I flew out to Los Angeles because the cast of Grey's Anatomy was doing a concert of songs from their show and it was for The Actor's Fund. There was no insane kickstarter for that and tickets were readily available up until the day of the show. Though I will admit I have no idea how big Royce Hall at UCLA is in comparison to the Minskoff.

Posted: 3/14/15 at 6:25pmI don't think it said anywhere how many tickets you would be able to buy if you pledged $25+ It just said there would be presale access, from what I recall. They then came out after and said it would be access to 4 tickets which set people off so they reduced it to 2.

So if someone pledged $25 for the chance to buy tickets in the presale and now feels that was an unwise investment, they just have to cancel their pledge and they won't have to pay anything.
