For a second time, the Helen Hayes Awards Recommended© Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat at Olney Theatre Center has been extended - to Sunday, April 3. The performances during the extension week are Thursday, March 31 through Saturday, April 2 at 8 p.m., and matinees on Saturday, April 2 and Sunday, April 3 at 2 p.m.

'You...can't stop the beat' of larger-than-life Tracy Turnblad, who will singand dance her way into your heart and onto the scene, while she fights for racial equality in Baltimore in the 1960's. Welcome to the 60's in the famous musical created by Baltimore's own John Waters. A live orchestra accompanies the cast of sixty high energy performers. The singing, dancing and the music are contagious in this uplifting story of racial integration in Baltimore in the '60s.

Liberty Showcase Theatre ROARS back to the stage with THERE'S A MONSTER IN MY CLOSET!, a frighteningly funny children's musical written by Angela D. Stuart with music and lyrics by Bill Francoeur. Directed by Ted McCadden and Lori Chapman, fantasy and reality collide in this eclectic and enchanting musical romp, relating the story of a girl named Emily, who discovers a monster in her closet. She invites her friends over for a slumber party, in an effort to capture the monster. The outcome is not what they expected and, with other wonderfully entertaining characters, the story showcases the manner in which friendship, ingenuity and a sprinkling of magic lead to a delightful solution to the monster problem.

This year marks the 25th-anniversary of Heavy Metal Parking Lot, a documentary hailed by rock and film cognoscenti as one of the greatest rock documentaries of all time. To honor the occasion, the film will serve as the 'opening band' for the touring comedy showcase, the Found Footage Festival, in a one-night-only engagement at the Creative Alliance on Thursday, April 7th at 8:00pm.
