Over 80% of this scholarship money has been designated specifically for Montgomery County students.

Imagination Stage (IStage) has always aimed to nurture the creativity in children. But with classes only up to age 18 and theatre performances only through the recommended age 12, at some point children graduate out of our offerings. However, this summer, several former campers will return to IStage summer camps as counselors to pass on what they learned in their IStage experiences to the next generation of artists.

Pumpkin Theatre continues our 45th Anniversary Season "A Celebration of Imagination" with Lilly's Purple Plastic Purse. Based on the children's book series by Kevin Henkes, this story is about a mouse named Lilly who loves everything about school, especially her cool teacher, Mr. Slinger. But when Lilly brings her purple plastic purse and its treasures to school and can't wait until sharing time, Mr. Slinger confiscates her prized possession. Lilly's fury leads to revenge and then to remorse and she sets out to make amends. Performances take place on May 11, 12, 18, and 19 at 1 and 3pm at St. Timothy's School, 8400 Greenspring Avenue. LaRocque plays war correspondent Ernie Pyle, recounting the major events of World War II in Pyle's own words. The actor becomes the reporter, appalled at the tragic waste of war and the brutal conditions it imposes on the men who fight it, and personally committed to going back to it, again and again, until the end.
DLC Offers Summer Camps in Baltimore City

The drama fun will run from July 8 - August 2, 2013. Tuition for DLC Baltimore summer camps is $295 per week per child. The Howard County Arts Council has announced the distribution of awards totaling $15,000 to its 2013 Arts Scholarship recipients. Receiving a $2,000 scholarship are Devon Bragg, Visual Art, Oakland Mills High School; Stephanie Ichniowski, Vocal Music, Reservoir High School; Valerie Kamen, Vocal Music, Hammond High School; John Kantelis, Visual Art, Atholton High School; Emily Lowe, Dance, Marriotts Ridge High School; Yaeji Shin, Instrumental Music, Atholton High School; and Jennifer Wegman, Instrumental Music, Hammond High School. Receiving a $1,000 scholarship is Allison Berger, Literary Art, River Hill High School.

Opening on May 10th, Fells Point Corner Theater will be presenting David Mamet's scalding comedy Glengarry Glen Ross. Recently revived this season on Broadway, Glengarry Glen Ross is Mamet at his very best, writing about small-time, cutthroat real estate salesmen trying to grind out a living by pushing plots of land on reluctant buyers in a never-ending scramble for their share of the American dream. Featured in this production are Jeff Murray, Howard Berkowitz, Vic Cheswick, Jr., Will Runnebaum, Jonathan Sachsman, William Walker, Tyrone Requer, and David Shoemaker.

Dundalk Community Theatre concludes its season with a production of the ABBA hit musical CHESS. Performances run from April 26 to May 5.
