Adventure Theatre MTC (ATMTC) presents Dr. Seuss's Cat in the Hat, the sixth and final show in its Professional 2012-2013 61st Season, today, June 21- September 2, 2013, based on the beloved book by Dr. Seuss, starring Helen Hayes Recipient, Rick Hammerly, and narrated by NPR's Guy Raz. Tickets are $19 each and can be purchased online at www.adventuretheatre-mtc.org or by calling 301.634.2270.

From the moment his tall, red-and-white-striped hat appears around the door, Sally and her brother know that the cat in the hat is the funniest, most mischievous cat they have ever met. With the trickiest of tricks and craziest of ideas, he is certainly fun to play with. And he turns a rainy afternoon into an amazing adventure. But what will mom find when she gets home...?

Michael J. Bobbitt, Producing Artistic Director of Adventure Theatre MTC says of the production, "Who doesn't love Dr. Seuss and the Cat in the Hat. And with such a familiar voice as Guy Raz from NPR as the narrator, audiences will be truly delighted. I am thrilled to have Karin Abromaitis (Go, Dog. Go! And Five Little Monkeys) back and in cahoots with the mischievously charming, Rick Hammerly and several acrobatic kids in the roles of Thing One and Thing Two. Honestly, I don't know what will happen and that's a really good thing."

Dr. Seuss's Cat in the Hat was originally produced by the National Theatre of Great Britain, and is recommended for all ages. Tickets are $19 each with group and field trip rates available. Children under the age of 1 are free. The press performance will be Sunday, June 23 at 2pm. All performances will take place at Adventure Theatre MTC, 7300 MacArthur Blvd, Glen Echo, MD, 20812 in the historic Glen Echo Park.

Adventure Theatre (founded in 1951) and Musical Theater Center (founded in 1986) merged into one organization, Adventure Theatre MTC, in 2012. Located in Glen Echo Park (Glen Echo, MD) and Wintergreen Plaza (Rockville, MD), ATMTC cultivates new generations of artists and audiences by creating memorable theatrical productions and by providing young people the highest quality musical theater training. ATMTC serves students at all skill levels and families from diverse communities, approximately 75,000 people annually.
