Devron T. Young to Open Red Branch Summer Cabaret Series, 7/13

Devron T. Young will open the summer cabaret series on July 13th with his musical evening entitled "One Night Only." The cabaret loosely chronicles pivotal moments in the performer's life through song and spoken word. Red Branch Managing Director Tiffany Underwood Holmes will accompany Mr. Young on the keyboard, and surprise special guests will join him on stage for select numbers. The program includes, but is not limited to songs such as "Maybe" from Annie, "God Bless the Child," "Memories of You" by Eubie Blake, "Family" and "One Night Only" from Dreamgirls, and many more.

Mr. Young is a proud graduate of Baltimore School for the Arts and University of Maryland. His performing credits include Joe Turner's Come and Gone with Jada Pinkett Smith, Eubie!, Once On This Island, and The Color Purple. A prolific performer and director, Mr. Young is a proud member of Actors' Equity Association. He currently resides in Columbia, MD and is a teaching artist at Drama Learning Center. Ms. Holmes has music directed frequently throughout the Baltimore/Washington Metropolitan area since 2006. Favorite music direction credits include Spelling Bee, RENT, 13 the Musical, Altar Boyz, and school editions of Sweeney Todd and Les Miserables. Ms. Holmes also serves as Resident Music Director of Drama Learning Center.

Local restaurant Café de Paris has partnered with Red Branch Theatre Company for the July 13th event. The casual French restaurant will offer small plates that sample from cuisine offered in their Columbia, MD dining room. The doors will open 45 minutes prior to show time to give patrons the opportunity to purchase the fine food and beverages offered before the performance begins.

Other performances in the cabaret series include TYA Teen Professionals on July 20th and Wendy Baird on August 24th. Doors open at 7:30 PM and show starts at 8:15 PM for all cabaret series performances.

Tickets are available for purchase online at www.redbranchtheatrecompany.com or by calling the box office at (410) 997-9352. $15 in advance; $18 at the door (cash); $20 at the door (credit); $40 for series 3-pack.
