With newly reinvented staging and stunning scenic design, this new version of PHANTOM is performed by a cast and orchestra of 52, making this one of the largest productions on tour in North America.

This production, with book, music and lyrics by James McDonald, David Vos, and Robert Gerlach, is directed by Eric J.Potter and features a dynamite cast of Baltimore's leading musical actors. The production is a revival of our 62nd Season (1978) production.

That you're going to have a wonderful time at Kinky Boots is something I don't have to tell you. If you're a theatergoer with a pulse, you'll have heard about the musical's great success (six Tonys, two-and-a-half years on Broadway). And you'll probably know that it was crafted from a movie that was itself all but a perfect musical, but for the absence of dedicated songs. You'll also know that Kinky Boots' book is by Harvey Fierstein and the songs by Cyndi Lauper. With credentials like that, it would be inconceivable that the result could be other than bliss. All the rest is simply a bunch of details.

In an isolated Appalachian town, the hard-hewn folk return to their backwoods rituals to ward off threats from an increasingly hostile modern world. Will Lorna convince her mother to make the necessary sacrifice and prevent social and ecological disaster? Will the chilling Rite at Kerrmoor be repeated? The production will preview on October 29, open the following night, and run Thursdays - Sundays through November 15.

To these quests might be added two more: Younger Brother's for some ideal he can build a life around and Mother's, a quieter one, to nurture a family, whatever contours her decency and generosity cause it to assume. And all of these quests are played out among the novelties and sensations of an exuberant American decade: among the things which will figure in the plot are Henry Ford's Model T, J.P. Morgan's library of priceless incunabula, the notorious charms of uber-courtesan Evelyn Nesbit, and the antics of escape artist Harry Houdini.
