Desire and tradition collide in this haunting, poetic drama by famed Spanish writer Federico Garcia Lorca. A widowed mother arranges a marriage for her only surviving son with the daughter of a local landowner. The bride, burning with a passion she cannot control, flees on her wedding day with another man. Driven to uphold his family's honor and aided by Death in the guise of a beggar woman, the jilted bridegroom must pursue the pair to the end. Considered one of the masterworks of modern drama.
