PushPush Theater is holding a Filmmakers Workshop hosted by Brian Newman on Saturday, June 5, 2010 from 2pm to 6pm, followed by an open-bar Networking Party from 6pm to 8pm. Topics included will be how to build a new fundraising, distribution, and audience engagement plan. This workshop is recommended for filmmakers, film students, and anyone creating new content or otherwise interested in engaging new audiences with new models and technology.

The workshop will be held at PushPush Theater, 121 New Street, Decatur, GA 30030. The cost is $60 to $120 on a pay-what-you-can sliding scale (in advance only), and this includes access to the Networking Party. If you are interested in the Networking Party alone, the cost is $20 (in advance only). This includes apps, bar, and access to guests including indie and feature film producers, reps from TBS, Image, and more. The full guest list available June 1st. Tickets must be purchased in advance. Day-of tickets are subject to a $10 service fee.

Workshop attendees requesting their content be included in the sample cases discussed are asked to submit their content ideas prior to the workshop. Email us at PushPushTheater@gmail.com with:

1) Name
2) Title of project
3) 200 words max description of content
4) 50 words max description of vision for delivery if applicable
5) Brief summary of any resources/financing already connected to project
6) Brief summary describing the intended audience

Content ideas may only be submitted after official registration and will be considered on a first-come-first-served basis. Register online or by calling 404.377.6332. The deadline for content submission is Tuesday, July 1st. Registrants are encouraged to submit content ideas as early as possible.

Brian Newman is the founder of Sub-Genre Consulting, where he conceived and launched the Reframe project, helping filmmakers and organizations to distribute content and connect with audiences through innovative uses of new technology. Brian was CEO of the Tribeca Film Institute (TFI), and has been the executive director of Renew Media and IMAGE Film & Video Center. He speaks regularly on new media, audience development and the future of the industry, and contributes to a blog on these subjects at Springboardmedia.
