Beginning this month, The Atlanta Opera will offer audio descriptions of its Sunday matinee performances for blind and visually impaired patrons.
This service will be offered for the Sunday matinee of Così fan tutte on April 17 at 3 p.m., and will be offered for all Sunday matinee performances in the 2011-2012 season. Audio Descriptions are audio-visual translations by a narrator of everything occurring on stage. The patron listens to the descriptions with complimentary audio equipment provided at the Cobb Energy Centre. The audio description is free for ticket holders, but must be requested in advance.
To make an audio-description request, please contact Atlanta Opera Ticketing Services at 404.881.8885, Monday-Friday, 9 a.m.-5 p.m. The deadline to request audio descriptions for Così fan tutte is Wednesday, April 6.
