The show chronicles Ms. Fisher's Hollywood odyssey that begins in her hometown of Memphis in the heart of Mississippi Delta with a flamboyant but very Jewish mother.

The hilarious musical rollercoaster ride, features original songs by Shelley Fisher, Harold Payne, and award-winning Ken Hirsch, and range from dating rednecks boys to dreams of being a Hollywood star - with some rock and roll, blues, and good BBQ along the way.

The two-act version of this show, "The Hebrew Hillbilly", has been play to sold-out audiences for over a year at Santa Monica Playhouse.

Shelley Fisher in "The Down Home Diva" with Ken Hirsch on piano is Sunday, May 20th and presented by Les Michaels' Sundays In Summer Series and The Joslyn Center.
