Apocalypse Noir lit up Balcon Salon with their latest Monday night showcase, delivering a theatrical pop experience that feels entirely its own. The genre bending collective, made up of Jan, Andrew Barrett Cox, Dani Lu, and Hayley Moir, blends dark cabaret, pop spectacle, and club energy into one cohesive and wildly entertaining night. The show leans into nostalgia while still feeling fresh, pulling inspiration from across genres and eras to create something that feels bold, playful, and completely immersive.

At the center of the night was the debut of their new single “Beat of My Heart,” a track originally written during Jan’s Drag Race era and later rediscovered and reworked into a full scale pop anthem. After being sidelined during the pandemic, the song now arrives at a time where its message of revival and joy feels especially fitting. The track embraces a sense of celebration and connection, positioning itself as a high energy anthem built for dance floors and shared experiences.

The full lineup featured Andrew Barrett Cox, Jan Sport, Dani Lu, Hayley Moir, Loosey LaDuca, Brandon Looney, Megan Dwinell, Kelly McIntyre, and special guest Nick Gaga. The variety of performers added layers to the show, allowing it to shift between concert, cabaret, and full theatrical spectacle.

Special guest Loosey LaDuca, known from Drag Race Season 15, joined the trio onstage out of drag for “We Built This City.” The performance added a fun and unexpected layer to the show, blending strong vocals with a sense of playfulness that kept the audience engaged and excited. Loosey was the first of many incredible guests to grace the stage during the show and definitely got the crowd excited for even more.

The debut performance of “Beat of My Heart” was the clear centerpiece of the night. Andrew, Dani, Hayley, and Jan took the stage with full choreography, delivering a number that felt ready made for clubs and large audiences. The vocals and harmonies were tight and polished, and the chorus was instantly catchy, the kind you find yourself singing along to before the song is even over. It felt like a true statement moment for the group and set the tone for what this next chapter could be.

Nick Gaga made their first appearance of the night with a high energy set of Lady Gaga hits including “Abracadabra” and “Judas.” Fully committing to the performance style, they delivered a complete pop star experience through lip syncing, dancing, and stage presence. It was a crowd pleasing moment that had the audience fully locked in. Her performance showcased exactly why she's called the premier Lady Gaga Impersonator.

Andrew, Dani, and Hayley followed in formal inspired looks with a theatrical take on “Don’t Tell Mama” from Cabaret, leaning fully into musical theatre storytelling. Brandon Looney and Megan Dwinell also had standout solo moments, each bringing their own style and presence to the stage.

The act built toward a striking rock inspired performance of “The Phantom of the Opera.” Dani began the number standing on the bar, immediately commanding attention, before being joined by Andrew and Hayley. The arrangement was bold and unexpected, transforming the song into something entirely new while still honoring its roots. It was one of the most unique moments of the night and felt like something that has to be experienced live.

The audience was fully engaged, clapping, singing, and feeding off the energy of the performance, making it one of the most interactive parts of the night.

Act three brought Jan back to the stage for a crowd choice moment, offering “Part of Your World” or “Maybe This Time.” The audience overwhelmingly chose “Maybe This Time,” and Jan delivered a stunning performance that captured the emotional core of the song. It was a reminder of her vocal strength and ability to connect through storytelling.

The night closed with a high energy run of songs including “Garden of Eden,” “Shut Up and Drive,” and “I Need a Hero.” Kelly McIntyre joined during this section and absolutely blew the roof off with her vocals, adding another level of intensity to the finale. The show ended with “Pink Pony Club,” a fan favorite that Andrew has a personal connection to, giving the moment an added layer of meaning while still keeping the energy high.

Apocalypse Noir has created something that feels both chaotic and completely intentional in the best way. The show is fun, theatrical, and full of personality, with something new happening at every turn. It is absolutely a night worth returning to, and one that continues to evolve with each performance.
