Photo Coverage: Marin Mazzie & Jason Danieley bring BROADWAY AND BEYOND to Barrington Stage Company
On Monday Nights the Pirates in "Pirates of Penzance" (the mega hit now playing at Barrington Stage Company) are resting but the set on the Boyd-Quinson Mainstage in Pittsfield was the perfect setting for one of the theatre's most perfectly matched couples.
As three time Tony nominated Marin Mazzie's glorious voice calls out "When I'm Calling You" oo-oo-oo-oo-oo-oo from the stage, it's answered by the electrifying tenor voice of Broadway star (and husband) Jason Danieley entering from the rear of the theatre. This playful start of their show perfectly signals what occurs during the 90 minutes of their theater concert evening titled Broadway And Beyond. You get to hear some of the best songs ever written for Broadway, sung by two of the most charismatic and authentic actor/singers in musical theatre. If great Broadway performances leave you breathless be prepared to be thrilled by practically every number in Broadway And Beyond's song list. Jason and Marin's artistry are the ideal combination of heavenly voices and harmonic musicality - and it doesn't get any better than that!
Joseph Thalken the award winning composer and pianist was music director. He supplied the perfectly tailored theatrical piano arrangements for this concert.
