Review: ESTATE SALE at Barrington Stage Company

I often look or ask for the take away message in a performance. I feel this is not that kind of a play. ESTATE SALE is an unusual, interesting presentation that makes the viewer think - which (IMHO) is typically, the best kind of theatrical experience. Playwright Keelay Gipson says 'grief may feel like a blessing and a curse, it alternates between joy and pain. Those two poles of experience remind me that life is a collection of contradictions. Grief can both the devastation of loss and the celebration of life.'

Review: FUZZY at Barrington Stage Company

The eleven original songs are pleasant, reminiscent of pop / folk rock, and had my head nodding throughout. Equally as enjoyable to me as recent hits from Jason Robert Brown, Benj Pasek & Justin Paul, or Sara Bareilles. Another thing you should know is that fuzzy is not complicated or deeply thought provoking. “fuzzy is an invitation to sit with other people and remember together that it’s alright to feel things”. It is a darling maybe even adorable little piece of musical theatre, you will likely be glad you had the chance to experience.
