ENRON's Itzin To Appear On USA's COVERT AFFAIRS

Gregory Itzin (TV's '24,' Broadway's ENRON) has been cast in a multi-episode arc on the new USA Network drama Covert Affairs.

Sources confirm to TV Guide that Itzin has been cast as Henry Wilcox, the distinguished former Director of Clandestine Services and the father of Sendhil Ramamurthy's character, Jai.

Covert Affairs, which premieres Tuesday, July 13 at 10/9c, stars Piper Perabo as a young CIA trainee thrust into the field because the agency has taken special interest in her ex-boyfriend.

Gregory Itzin made his triumphant return to Broadway in Enron, following his Tony® and Drama Desk nominated performance in the Pulitzer Prize winning play The Kentucky Cycle. He is best known for his critically acclaimed turn as President Charles Logan on FOX’s celebrated drama “24”, for which he received a 2006 Emmy nomination, he has been a fixture in theater, film and television for over 30 years. A graduate of The American Conservatory Theatre in San Francisco, where he also was a company member, Gregory's noted theater credits include the aforementioned The Kentucky Cycle (Intiman Theatre, Mark Taper Forum, The Kennedy Center, Broadway), Psychopathia Sexualis (Mark Taper Forum), Romeo & Juliet, Beyond Therapy, and Cyrano De Bergerac (South Coast Repertory), Shipwrecked (Geffen Playhouse/South Coast Rep), Bang Bang Blues (The Public Theatre), Philadelphia, Here I Come! (Theatre Of Arts), Translations  (LA Stage Company), and Much Ado About Nothing (VITA).  A member of the Matrix Theatre Company in Los Angeles, he received Los Angeles Drama Critics Circle awards for his performances in Waiting for Godot, The Homecoming and The Birthday Party. He has made his living as an in-demand actor for many years, on over 140 television shows with multiple and recurring roles on LA Law, Star Trek, Picket Fences, The Practice, Boston Legal, and, most recently, portraying Agent Virgil Minelli on The Mentalist.  Itzin was a series regular on The Nutt House, with Harvey Korman and Cloris Leachman, Something Wilder  with Gene Wilder, Murder One with Anthony LaPaglia, and his favorite pre-24 role as a Russian videographer/porn producer with Russian mafia ties on Comedy Central’s Strip Mall.  His movie credits began with Airplane and include The Fabulous Baker Boys, Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, Original Sin and most recently, Law Abiding Citizen.
