Kiki & Herb Make a 'Second Coming' at Carnegie Hall Dec.12

Kiki & Herb take the stage once again at the legendary Carnegie Hall for a one night only appearance Kiki & Herb: The Second Coming - A Christmas Concert.  This not-to-be-missed holiday spectacular will take Wednesday, December 12 at 8PM.

Headed back to the New York stage for their first major appearance since their Tony-nominated turn in Kiki & Herb: Alive on Broadway (August 2006), Justin Bond (Kiki) and Kenny Mellman (Herb) are set to shine like the stars of Bethlehem in an all-new Christmas show.

"Kiki & Herb stunned Broadway audiences with the astonishing revelation that they were in fact present in the manger for the birth of Jesus. Now, they celebrate the events of that fateful night in Kiki & Herb: The Second Coming - A Christmas Concert.  Kiki & Herb will embark on a night of darkness and pagan drama, taking the audience on a musical odyssey from Sinnermen to Sainted Sweethearts with songs by The Tiger Lillies, Kanye West, Nina Simone, Emmylou Harris, and many more.  They will also deliver their own twisted take on traditional Christmas fare leaving the audience with a rousing dose of holiday cheer.  Joy to the World!  Kiki & Herb have come," declare press notes.

Kiki & Herb: The Second Coming - A Christmas Concert will take place Wednesday, December 12 at 8PM.  Carnegie Hall is located at 154 West 57th Street.  Doors open at 7:30 PM.  Tickets are $29.50 - $85, with a limited number of VIP $175 premium tickets available (includes a stocking stocked with holiday gifts from Kiki & Herb: a limited-edition collectible tree ornament, a signed show poster, and more).

Since 1992, Justin Bond and Kenny Mellman have graced stages around the world as the infamous performing duo Kiki & Herb.  Their credits include the unprecedented sold-out concert Kiki & Herb Will Die For You at Carnegie Hall (2004), followed by a two-year worldwide tour headlining their own shows and also sharing the bill with the Grammy-nominated Scissor Sisters on a smash European tour. They have appeared at such prestigious venues as The Royal Albert Hall and the Sydney Opera House.  Past productions include Kiki & Herb: Coup de Theatre (Off-Broadway - 2003), the Obie-winning Kiki & Herb: Jesus Wept and Kiki & Herb: There's a Stranger in the Manger (Westbeth - 2001), Pardon Our Appearance (Philadelphia's Wilma Theater - 2002; Washington D.C.'s Woolly Mammoth Theatre - 2002, where Bond and Mellman were both nominated for Helen Hayes Awards) and Where Are We Now? (London's Soho Theatre - 2002).  Also in London: Kiki & Herb: There's a Stranger in the Manger and Kiki & Herb Mount The President (the latter aboard the HMS President in the River Thames). 

Favorite performances include: the Biennale (Germany), On The Boards (Seattle), the Great American Music Hall (San Francisco), the Knitting Factory L.A. and collaborations with such artists as Debbie Harry, Julian Fleisher, Sandra Bernhard, Mike Patton, Bob Ostertag, Antony of Antony and The Johnsons, the Scissor Sisters and Rufus Wainwright.  Kiki & Herb recordings include "Kiki & Herb: Do You Hear What We Hear" and "Kiki & Herb Will Die for You at Carnegie Hall."  Their DVD Kiki & Herb Live At The Knitting Factory will be released in Winter 2008.

Justin Bond was a 2007 Tony Award nominee and has been honored with Obie, Bessie and GLAAD Media Awards.  He was named by Time Out London as one of England's 50 Funniest People.  His solo show "Glamour Damage" made its world premiere at London's Soho Theatre and was hailed by the Evening Standard as "A glittering walk on the wild side."  He performs with his band The Freudian Slippers and as a featured vocalist on the London Readers Wifes' "Nostalgia," had a Top 20 Single on the UK alternative chart. Recently, he appeared as Valerie Solanas with Matmos at the Whitney Biennial.  Bond toured internationally with avant-garde noise/cabaret band Pantychrist.  Film credits include John Cameron Mitchell's feature Shortbus as well as Imaginary Heroes and Kiki & Herb Reloaded (OutFest, LA / NewFest, NYC) and on television, "Late Night with Conan O'Brien."  Bond is an MA Scenography candidate at Central St. Martin's College of Art and Design in London.

Tony Award nominee (2007) Kenny Mellman studied music composition at UC Berkeley and poetry at San Francisco State University.  His work on Kiki & Herb has earned him an Obie, a Bessie, a GLAAD Media Award, an HX Award and a Helen Hayes Award nomination.  He has appeared in the films Imaginary Heroes and Kiki & Herb Reloaded.  He performed with artist John Kelly in Paved Paradise (portraying the character of Georgia O'Keefe) in San Francisco, Los Angeles (Highways) and Manchester, England (the Library Theater) and appeared in Underground Goddess at HERE and the Nuyorican Poets Theatre. He has shared the stage or recorded with artists including Bob Mould (Husker Du, Sugar), The Magnetic Fields and The Magnetic Fields' side projects The Three Terrors andThe 6ths, among others.  Some of his latest work includes his solo show Kenny Mellman Is Grace Jones (the TBA Festival in Portland, OR and various venues in NYC and Philadelphia); and Kenny Mellman Plus Neal Medlyn Equals R Kelly with Neal Medlyn. He was the co-host of Ars Nova's "Automatic Vaudeville." He wrote the music for the children's show That Pesky Rat for the Soho Theatre in London and collaborated with Michael Patrick King ("Sex And The City") and Bridget Everett on "At Least It's Pink," which had a successful run at Ars Nova, was a hit at the 2006 Aspen Comedy Arts Festival, and is set to have an Off-Broadway run in 2008.  He is currently writing an original musical.
