Mentoring the future of musical theatre, composer Stephen Schwartz (Wicked, Pippin, Godspell, The Baker's Wife) taught a master class to the students of Broadway Artists Alliance on Thursday, August 9th.  These young performers had the opportunity to work one-on-one with Schwartz in this song interpretation master class.  An eager and attentive group of students observed and took part in a Q&A session.

The class was part of a two-week musical theatre intensive at Ripley Grier Studios, NYC.  A total of 30 current Broadway artists visit, mentor, and  instruct the group of young and talented performers during this two-week master class series.  In addition to Schwartz's class, the students will meet a Tony Award-winning guest speaker.  Past guests include Sutton Foster, Beth Leavel, Jason Robert Brown, John Lloyd Young, and John Gallagher Jr.

Broadway Artists Alliance is a NYC not-for-profit organization bringing together Broadway artists and promising young artists, ages 10-19, from  all over the country.  All students go through an extensive application and audition process before they are accepted into the program.  The two-week intensive will conclude with a final showcase at New World Stages  on Saturday, August 11th at 2:30pm.  Visit www.broadwayartistsalliance.org for more information.
