TLA to Release Naked Boys Singing! The Movie in the Fall

TLA Releasing has acquired North American Theatrical/DVD rights including all rights for the United Kingdom to Funny Boy Films' Naked Boys Singing! The Movie (USA, 2007), co-directed by Robert Schrock and Troy Christian. The film is scheduled to hit movie theaters in the fall.

Executive Producer Sterling Zinsmeyer brought the project to Funny Boy Films. TLA Releasing was represented by TLA partner and Director of Acquisitions Richard A. Wolff with Kirkland Tibbels and attorney Joel Shames handling the deal for Funny Boy Films.  The deal was finalized at the 2007 Cannes Film Festival.

Since its raucous debut, the revealing revue has dropped its drawers for eager audiences around the world and was voted best musical by LA Weekly and Backstage West. Now in its 8th year in New York, the musical has played over 2,500 packed out performances and features songs written by Bruce Vilanch, Stephen Bates, Shelly Markum, David Pevzner, Rayme Sciaroni, Mark Winkler and Robert Schrock," state press materials.

In Naked Boys Singing! The Movie, the cast includes a multi-talented selection of singers, dancers and actors including Jason Currie, Kevin Stea (Madonna's "Blonde Ambition" tour), Joe Souza, Joseph Keane, Phong Truong, Salvatore Vassallo, Andrew Blake James, Anthony Manough, Jaymes Hodges, and original stage cast member Vincent Zamora, who bare it all.

Prior to producing Naked Boys Singing! The Movie, Kirkland Tibbels, CEO of Hollywood's first gay movie studio Funny Boy Films, also produced (with TLA Releasing) distributed such films as Latter Days, Adam & Steve, and The Night Larry Kramer Kissed Me. Funny Boy Films  is scheduled to shoot Del Shores' acclaimed stage play Southern Baptist Sissies later this year.
