Beginning performances on Tuesday, February 1, 2011, TEAL WICKS will assume the role of Elphaba in the Broadway company of WICKED. Ms. Wicks is making her Broadway debut after playing the role of Elphaba in both the San Francisco and Los Angeles productions of WICKED. Additionally, Next to Normal's KYLE DEAN MASSEY will return to the Broadway company of WICKED in the role of Fiyero on Tuesday, January 25. (more...)

According to Deadline.com, the much-speculated WICKED film is finally on the move. Producer Marc Platt, screenwriter Winnie Holzman, and composer Stephen Schwartz have recently been meeting with potential directors -- including JJ Abrams (2009's 'Star Trek,' 'Lost'), James Mangold ('Walk the Line'), Ryan Murphy ('Glee'), and Rob Marshall ('Chicago,' 'Nine'). A near exact recreation of the film we all know and love - laced with bits and pieces of the book with some modern aspects tossed in - the show is a fun time for children, and a nice way to introduce them to live theater.
