Like many classic stories that we have grown to know and love, She Loves Me, the upcoming Center Stage Theatre production at Midland Center for the Arts, has a long history as a charming tale worth retelling with new and unique interpretations.

The 1940's Radio Hour, award winning musical, and holiday favorite by Walton Jones, returns Dec. 3-5 and 17-19 live, in-person at the Rose Center Theater. Set against the backdrop of World War II, this heartwarming show follows a group of Radio Artists at Christmas as they attempt to make it big on the 'Mutual Manhattan Variety Cavalcade.'

Coming Orange County's Premier Civic Performing Arts Center this holiday season, The 1940's Radio Hour is set to play at the Rose Center Theater December 3-5 and 17-19, 2021.

John Bishop's play The Musical Comedy Murders of 1940 premiered at the Circle Repertory Company in New York in 1987 before opening on Broadway later that year. This ensemble play is the perfect lead-in to the Halloween season, featuring mistaken identities, secret passageways, murder, and lots of laughs. You can catch The Musical Comedy Murders of 1940 at Gettysburg Community Theatre in person October 8-17 and virtually on demand October 22-24. Andrea Stephenson, who plays the character of Bernice, took a few moments to share her experience with the show:

Take a holiday trip back to the 1940’s with the Missoula Community Theatre during It’s a Wonderful Life: A Live Radio Play, Dec. 10-20. In the old days, families would sit around the radio to ‘listen’ to a show. This December, you can gather with your families around a computer or television to ‘watch’ Bedford Falls come to life, as this show will be presented exclusively as a streamed performance. The only in-person seating will be in the comfy living rooms of the audience!

'Too Many Girls' is a 1940 American musical comedy film directed by George Abbott. The film's screenplay is by John Twist, and it stars Lucille Ball, Richard Carlson, Ann Miller, Eddie Bracken, Frances Langford, Desi Arnaz and Hal Le Roy. The RKO Pictures release is 85 minutes of enjoyment

Audiences will be enchanted this year as Theatre Under the Stars (TUTS) presents Disney's Beauty and the Beast and Hello, Dolly! on alternate evenings July 4-August 29, 2020, at Stanley Park's Malkin Bowl. From February 27 to March 29, Woodie King, Jr.'s New Federal Theatre will celebrate both Black History Month and Women's History Month with an Off-Broadway production of 'Two Can Play' by Trevor Rhone, directed by Clinton Turner Davis, at Castillo Theater, 543 West 42nd Street. In this two-act comedy, Gloria and Jim, a lower middle-class couple in Kingston, try their wildest schemes to escape gun crime and establish residence in the United States. They survive because they learn to communicate and rediscover each other. Playwright Trevor Rhone was the artistic giant of Jamaican theater. The play celebrates the pent-up need for self-discovery and personal development in Jamaican women, a theme which is also universal. Director is Clinton Turner Davis, who helmed the comedy's New York premiere in 1985.

Opera Undone: Tosca & La bohème will run at Trafalgar Studios 2 from 5 February to 7 March 2020. Adam Spreadbury-Maher, Artistic Director of the King's Head Theatre, will also direct the production, with musical direction from David Eaton. Opera Undone: Tosca & La bohème will have a national press night on Tuesday 11 February 2020.

On October 24th through the 27th, MADCAP Comedy and Improv Troupe presented the John Bishop farce The Musical Comedy Murders of 1940 at Newman University's Jabara Flexible Theatre. Under executive artistic director Cameron Carlson and wife Lana, the show was a night of pre-war, German societal commentary and comedy amid a mysterious murder mystery in a Chappaqua, New York City mansion setting. Starring Vonda Newby-Schuster, Mark Barlow, Mary Lou Phipps-Winfrey, Crystal Meek, and Steve Dunn among many others, the show was a perfect selection for tying into their previous show Hounds of Baskerville and for what was Halloween weekend in Wichita.

San Francisco Playhouse announced casting for Cabaret, the Tony Award-winning musical that will close the company's 2018/19 Season. Susi Damilano will direct, with music direction by Dave Dobrusky and choreography by Nicole Helfer.

Rom Com Fest, a new Los Angeles based film festival which celebrates love through film and experiences, announced the lineup for its inaugural festival which will take place June 20-23, 2019. The lineup includes special themed screenings of iconic romantic comedies, as well as a competition lineup of new romantic comedies, and a number of unique themed events and activities. The program was announced today by the festival's Founder and Executive Director Miraya Berke.
