Why Bring it to Edinburgh?
Because the Fringe is perhaps the most diverse festival in the world attracting people who love all kinds of drama, comedy, music, and really all things artistic. New York taught me to not be afraid to take chances and tell your jokes to any kind of audience and the Fringe gives you a great chance to do that every day.
Do you think you know what to expect?
Its my 5th year at the Fringe. My first solo show at the Fringe was in the Upper Deck of a parked Bus that sat 40, now I'm going to perform at Dropkick Murphys which can fit 100+ people in it. So every year is its own unique challenge, but that is what makes the Fringe special and fun. I hope to keep filling those seats and making people laugh.
What sets it apart from other shows at the festival?
I think right now there are two distinct types of comedians at the Fringe. Those who go for straight laughs and those who are trying to make points with their comedy. Straight laughs are great, but it feels weird to do that with how crazy the world is right now. Still, if we're being honest, most people trying to make a good point are painfully unfunny or doing jokes from 10 years ago in between to trick people into thinking they have an hour of jokes.
I want to be able to do an hour that talks about marriage, divorce, atheism, and race but without sacrificing laughs. If its not funny, then the point doesn't deserve to be in my show yet. People should just go watch a politician's speech or something if they just want to hear someone make points they agree with.
Who would you recommend comes see you?
People who are real comedy fans enjoy me the most. I wish there was a less pretentious way to say that or really anything I've said so far, but there you are.
