What did our critic think of GIRL FROM THE NORTH COUNTRY at Aronoff Center? Admittedly, I’m not a huge Bob Dylan fan. Not for any reasons like dislike, but generationally I was never really exposed to his music. So when I heard there was a new musical using his catalog, my expectations were tampered.

The North American Tour of Girl From the North Country, written and directed by celebrated playwright Conor McPherson and featuring Tony Award-winning orchestrations by Simon Hale, has officially hit the road! Mare Winningham and Jeannette Bayardelle sat down with Sherri Shepherd on the Wendy Show to discuss starring in Girl From the North Country on Broadway. During the interview, the stars reacted to their Tony nominations, revealing how they found out, and detailed their meeting with Bob Dylan, whose music is used in the show.

New York Governor Kathy Hochul visited Girl From The North Country on Broadway at the Belasco Theatre this evening. Prior to the show, she visited with the cast and came onstage to give brief remarks about Broadway’s resilience and the comeback of New York City.

Today, it was announced that the North American Tour of the acclaimed Girl From The North Country, nominated for 7 Tony Awards including Best Musical, will have its technical rehearsals and tour premiere at Hennepin Theatre Trust's historic Orpheum Theatre in the Fall of 2023. 

Girl From the North Country has officially set its Broadway return dates! The musical, which temporarily closed on January 23 with the promise of returning this spring, will return for a limited engagement, April 29-June 11 at the Belasco Theatre.

Today, January 23, Broadway says goodbye to two beloved productions. Slave Play will conclude its limited run at the August Wilson Theatre following 9 previews and 58 regular performances; and Girl from the North Country pauses performances at the Belasco Theatre following 31 previews and 117 regular performances.
