MPTF (Motion Picture & Television Fund) announced today that it will host a one-night-only fundraiser to benefit their COVID-19 Emergency Relief Fund, providing support for entertainment industry workers, particularly those who work behind-the-scenes across film and television, who need it most during this pandemic.

The Advanced Imaging Society will honor Walt Disney Imagineering at the 11th Annual Lumiere Awards, joining previously announced Harold Lloyd Award recipient, Academy Award-nominated filmmaker James Mangold. Four-time Golden Globe nominee Caitriona Balfe (Ford v Ferrari, Outlander) will join Suzanne Lloyd, Chairwoman of Harold Lloyd Entertainment in presenting to Mangold. The Lumiere Awards will be held on Wednesday, January 22 at Warner Bros. Studios.

Variety reports that Anton, Stigma Films, and Ridley Scott will produce 'Curs_r,' a new gaming drama, at Quibi.

The Paley Center for Media today announced a star-studded lineup of presenters and guests who will participate in this year's The Paley Honors: A Special Tribute to Television's Comedy Legends. The event will take place on Thursday, November 21 at 6:30pm at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel in Beverly Hills.

Today, Quibi announced a scripted series, WIRELESS, starring Tye Sheridan (“Ready Player One”). The thrilling survival series created and executive produced by Jack Seidman and Zach Wechter has been greenlit by Quibi. The project will also be executive produced by Steven Soderbergh, Michael Sugar, Cathy Konrad and Danny Sherman. Wechter will direct the series beginning production this week. Christian Heuer, Pickpocket, Treeline Film and Propagate are producing the series.

The short-form mobile video platform Quibi recently announced collaborations with Rotten Tomatoes and E! to create exclusive content with the NBCUniversal Digital Lab, according to Deadline.

Telemundo, the leading media company serving Hispanics, and Quibi have partnered to produce daily news programming for the mobile platform when it launches in April 2020. As a part of the partnership, Telemundo is developing two exclusive shows for Quibi's curated news and entertainment programming, Daily Essentials.

Today, CBS News and Quibi announced an innovative news show entitled 60 IN 6 that will deliver 60 MINUTES' brand of storytelling tailored for a new platform and a new audience. With this groundbreaking licensing agreement, 60 MINUTES will produce an original weekly program, approximately six minutes per episode, exclusively for Quibi.

ESPN and Quibi have reached an agreement for daily sports programming on the mobile-first platform when it launches in April 2020. As part of the new deal, ESPN will be the exclusive U.S. multi-sport content provider for Quibi's curated news and information programming, Daily Essentials. The new ESPN show, available only on Quibi, will feature daily episodes and breaking news covering the biggest stories in sports.

Deadline reports that new short-form video streaming platform, Quibi, will partner with BBC News in creating an international news show for millennials, expected to premiere this upcoming April.

Variety reports that Janice Min has left new streaming service Quibi, which plans to launch in April of 2020. She is one of several executives to leave the company in the past several months.

GLSEN, the leading education organization working to create safe and inclusive K-12 schools for LGBTQ youth, is pleased to announce that it will honor Amazon Studios with the Visionary Award at the 2019 GLSEN Respect Awards – Los Angeles.  Amazon Studios Chief Jennifer Salke will accept the award on behalf of the organization.  As previously announced, Apple CEO Tim Cook will receive the Champion Award.

According to Variety, Don Cheadle is set to star in DON'T LOOK DEEPER. The series is a new science fiction drama also starring Emily Mortimer and Helena Howard. Catherine Hardwicke is set to direct and Jeffrey Lieber will showrun, write and executive produce. 

Pitch Perfect star Anna Kendrick is set to star in and executive produce the romantic comedy anthology series Love Life, according to Deadline.

Celebrating its 24th year, the UCLA Jonsson Cancer Center Foundation's signature event, Taste for a Cure, will be held on Friday, April 26 at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel. During this special evening, the 2019 Gil Nickel Humanitarian Award will be presented to Sandra Stern, President of Lionsgate's Television Group.
