Hoebee and Jerome Robbins' original choreography recreated by Alex Sanchez. It's only a few moments before choreographer Jennifer Paulson- Lee will watch her cast give the press a 'sneak peek' of their rehearsals. They're preparing to perform three musical numbers from 'You're A Good Man, Charlie Brown' which will be presented at The York Theatre beginning this week for a limited engagement. What's unique about this revival is the fact that a pint-sized cast of 9 to 13 year olds is performing all the roles. But don't let their ages fool you. This young bunch of talented thespians has a list of professional credits that any seasoned 35-year-old performer would envy. As the press files into the theatre, Paulson-Lee is busy making last minute corrections on her young charges. She is gentle and soft-spoken yet gets her point across to these eager children who take her notes and make the adjustments on the spot. The mutual love and admiration between this gang of peanuts and their dance master is all too evident. (more...)

Tenor Ronan Tynan just returned to Westchester Broadway Theatre on May 17th, 2016. He is known for his versatile range of repertoire. It includes the operatic, oratorio, concert, and popular music genres. Tynan has performed in concert halls across the United States and internationally including Metropolitan Opera House, Carnegie Hall, Avery Fischer Hall, Lincoln Center and Radio City Music Hall. He has appeared on many television shows and is famous for his performances of 'God Bless America' at Yankee Stadium during the seventh-inning stretch. In the wake of 9/11, he performed at benefits and memorial services for New York's Finest and Bravest. (more...)

On April 8, 2016, at 8:00PM, The New York Pops took center stage at Carnegie Hall's Stern Auditorium/Perelman Stage in The Music of John Williams: From Spielberg to Star Wars. Music Director and Conductor Steven Reineke lead the orchestra in a celebration of the work of legendary film composer John Williams, with a strong focus on his collaborations with Academy Award-winning director Steven Spielberg. The orchestra breathed life into some of cinema's most iconic scores, including selections from E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial, Raiders of the Lost Ark, and Jurassic Park. The concert also included a look at Williams' seminal scoring of the Star Wars films, from their beginnings in the 1970s to today's The Force Awakens. As previously reported by BroadwayWorld, the producers of Hamilton recently sent out a casting notice specifying they are 'looking for non-white men and women, ages 20s to 30s, for both the Broadway production and upcoming national tours. No theatre experience necessary.' Representatives for the production say the language used was approved by Actors' Equity, and the show's producers have just released the following statement on the issue. (more...)
