The recently announced compilation from the 501(c)3 non-profit organization NOISE FOR NOW’s recently launched label is out June 21st. Set to benefit independent abortion providers throughout the nation via Keep Our Clinics, the album features 11 exclusive tracks from Webster, The War On Drugs, Courtney Barnett, David Byrne and Devo, MC50 ft. Arrow De Wilde, Big Freedia, SOFIA ISELLA, Julia Jacklin, Becca Mancari, Claud and AJ Haynes (of Seratones).

This past week, all eyes have remained on Lola Brooke as she continues to make her presence heard and felt by all. Now, she releases the official music video to 'Shelter Baby (Be That Bitch)' from her debut project Dennis Daughter. 'Shelter Baby' is a central piece of Lola's project, Dennis Daughter. Produced by Reefa Music, the haunting and action-packed beat accompanies Lola's story as she speaks about the significance the shelter system has on her life.

Lola Brooke, the rising star of Rap, is back with a bang as she flips the switch on the release of the deluxe edition to her debut project, Dennis Daughter. The special edition welcomes four songs: 'Neighborhood Hero,' accompanied by an explosive music video out now HERE, 'GO GET YA MOTHA,' 'Bend It Ova,' featuring A Boogie and Big Freedia, and 'Becky,' featuring 41. Genre-bending artist Elohim has signed a record label deal with Position Music. Elohim will release her next single “Broken Face” via Position Music on December 15 — the combination of Elohim’s intimate lyrics and spine-tingling voice set to delicate piano and string swells reveal a vulnerable side of the acclaimed electronic artist.

The polymathic Scissor Sisters’ front-man also recently confirmed details of his West End debut, having joined the cast of Cabaret at the Kit Kat Club alongside Self Esteem (aka Rebecca Lucy Taylor) from September 2023.

Red Balloon was released last May on Verve Records to widespread critical praise. Predominantly produced by Tank and the Bangas, the 16-track album includes contributions from Big Freedia, Alex Isley, Masego, Lalah Hathaway, Jacob Collier, Questlove, Trombone Shorty, Jamison Ross, The Ton3s, Georgia Anne Muldrow and Wayne Brady.

True Orleans 2 was recorded and produced by Allen at his own studio in New Orleans and features the multi-talent playing trumpet, trombone, drums, keyboards, and bass as well as programming the electronic drums. The album includes a new version of the hometown favorite “Weekend Dance” featuring guest appearances by G. Love and Dee-1.

NOLA Bounce Icon Big Freedia is back with a fiery track “El Niño”. Releasing as a salute to Juneteenth, the song boasts features from Lil Wayne and Boyfriend. Alongside Lil Wayne and Boyfriend, the album features captivating collaborations with esteemed artists such as Faith Evans, Ciara, Kelly Price, Kamaiyah, Sonyae, and The Soul Rebels.

Jake Shears has released his new record, Last Man Dancing. The project features the new single, a brand new collaboration with Kylie Minogue (“Voices”), plus recent singles “Too Much Music” and “I Used To be In Love”. Following a recent run of support sets in the UK with Duran Duran, Shears will take Last Man Dancing on the road this summer.

Diversionary Theatre has announced its 2023/2024 season: the San Diego premiere of Dragon Mama (September/October 2023) by Sara Porkalob and directed by Andrew Russell; the legacy revival of The Glass Menagerie (November/December 2023) by Tennessee Williams and directed by Lisa Berger with Shana Wride taking on the iconic role of Amanda Wingfield; the West Coast premiere of Notes on Killing Seven Oversight, Management and Economic Stability Board Members (May/June, 2024) a co-production with Moxie Theatre by Mara Vélez Meléndez and a director to be announced; the world-premiere musical TL;DR: Thelma Louise; Dyke Remix (May/June, 2024) by EllaRose Chary and Brandon Gwinn, directed by Sherri Eden Barber.

The record was conceived between the US, Portugal, and London (where Jake relocated from his New Orleans home during the pandemic) alongside the sort of head-turning guestlist that, in Shears’ cross-pollinating universe, also makes total sense: from Amber Martin and Boys Noize to Big Freedia, Kylie Minogue, and cameos from Jane Fonda and Iggy Pop.
