Inspirational actress and singer Ali Stroker is set to offer a special TEDx Talk on March 8.

Stroker recently finished making her Broadway debut in the critically acclaimed revival of SPRING AWAKENING, in addition to making her NY Fashion Week debut where she appeared in designer Rachel Antonoff's show on February 11th. TED is a nonprofit devoted to spreading ideas, usually in the form of short, powerful talks (18 minutes or less) which have been viewed by millions of people all over the world.

An advocate for people with different abilities, Stroker was the first-ever performer in a wheelchair to appear in a Broadway show. She also guest-starred on Season 4 of the Emmy Award-winning FOX show GLEE and appeared as a finalist on the TV reality show competition THE GLEE PROJECT. A graduate of New York University, Ali was also the first person in a wheelchair to graduate from The Tisch School of the Arts' prestigious Drama Program. Stroker has had solo performances at the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C. and New York's Town Hall, in addition to concert performances at Lincoln Center in NYC.

Using stories and song, Ali's TEDx Talk, IF THERE'S A WHEEL THERE'S A WAY, will take the audience on her journey to becoming the first actor in a wheelchair to be on Broadway. In the pursuit of this dream, she was unexpectedly introduced to her most powerful self, and the realization that her limitations were actually opportunities, changed the entire game.

TED began in 1984 as a conference where Technology, Entertainment and Design converged, and today covers almost all topics - from science to business to global issues - in more than 100 languages. TED is a global community, welcoming people from every discipline and culture who seek a deeper understanding of the world, believing passionately in the power of ideas to change attitudes, lives and, ultimately, the world.

Ali also travels to South Africa several times each year with the non-profit organization ARTS InsideOut, where she leads theater classes & workshops for women & children affected by HIV & AIDS. She also a Co-Chair of Women Who Care, which supports United Cerebral Palsy of NYC and she's a Founding Member of BE MORE HEROIC, an anti-bullying campaign which tours the U.S. connecting with thousands of students each year. Ali was born & raised in New Jersey and currently resides in Manhattan.
