History was made this past Saturday when tickets went on sale for the upcoming revival of Michael Stewart and Jerry Herman's masterpiece Hello Dolly !, starring legendary performer Bette Midler. With ticket sales totaling $9,082,497, Hello Dolly! officially broke the record for the best first day of sales in the history of Broadway.

Philip J. Smith and Robert E. Wankel, Chairman and President of The Shubert Organization, respectively, said, "We are thrilled with the tremendous response from Hello, Dolly! ticket-buyers. The combination of this show and Bette Midler has proven irresistible to theatergoers."

Hello, Dolly! begins performances on March 15, 2017, at The Shubert Theatre, with Opening Night set for April 20th.

In addition to Midler, the production will star David Hyde Pierce, Kate Baldwin, Gavin Creel, Jennifer Simard, Melanie Moore and Will Burton. Choreographer Warren Carlyle joins the design team of Santo Loquasto (sets and costumes), Natasha Katz (lighting) and Scott Lehrer (sound). Scott Rudin serves as lead producer.
