Behind The Scenes Of IF/THEN With Idina Menzel & Anthony Rapp

Offering a glimpse behind the scenes of the highly anticipated new musical by Tom Kitt and Brian Yorkey, IF/THEN, popular Broadway headliner and GLEE notable Idina Menzel discusses the National Theater tryout of the show as well as her passion for the piece in a new behind the scenes interview.
Menzel shares her deep love for the theatre, relating, "The truth is I love musical theater, and always have. I love singing very expressively, with lots of emotionality and in pop and rock, they make you tone it down." Menzel qualifies her statement, saying, "It took getting dropped from a record label, it took struggling after 'Rent', to realize I love it here."
In addition to Menzel, IF/THEN also boasts another recognizable face originally in the premiere cast of RENT along with Menzel, as well - Anthony Rapp.
Speaking of the RENT connection porting over to the camaraderie of the cast on IF/THEN, Rapp states, "With all of us from the original cast, there's that tremendous connection that we all had - it's been, 'pick up where we left off'."
Furthermore, Rapp adds, "I can't overstate what trust means in our work... Trusting not that she's just a good person, but that onstage every night, I have absolute trust and faith that we will be present for each other."
