4) Exclusive: In Rehearsals With Drabinsky's SOUSATZKA - A Refugee Musical As Timely As Ever

Above the Elgin Theatre in Toronto on the 4th floor, magical things are happening. A company with 70 Tony Award nominations and 12 wins between them are gearing up to premiere a new musical, Sousatzka, based on the 1988 Shirley MacLaine film Madame Sousatzka. At the helm of the project, notorious theatre impresario Garth Drabinsky - who is making his comeback to 'artistic producing' following his convictions for fraud and forgery during his time as the head of Livent. Livent, of course, was once a division of Cineplex Odeon which produced the Sousatzka film before being bought out by Drabinsky and his then business partner Myron Gottlieb.. (more...)

Michael C. Hall last starred onstage in David Bowie and Enda Walsh's LAZARUS Off-Broadway; the show recently transferred to the West End. Before that, he played the title role in HEDWIG AND THE ANGRY INCH on Broadway. Among his other Broadway credits are THE REALISTIC JONESES (which earned him a Drama Desk Award in 2014), CABARET, CHICAGO and SKYLIGHT. Hall has also appeared Off-Broadway in MR. MARMALADE, CORPUS CHRISTI, CYMBELINE, MACBETH and HENRY V. The actor is also known for his award-winning roles in TV's DEXTER and SIX FEET UNDER.
