The World to Come, presented by Woolly Mammoth Theatre Company and Theater J, is a world premiere play written by Ali Viterbi and directed by Howard Shalwitz. Set in the SeaBreeze Hebrew Home, the story follows four seniors—Fanny, Barbara, Ruth, and Hal—as they confront the chaos of an impending apocalypse while finding joy in friendship and late-in-life love. This unexpected blend of humor and heart reflects on the challenges of aging and the resilience of community amidst absurdity. Featuring performances from notable D.C. artists, this production promises a poignant exploration of human connection.
