An Asian American Dance Journey - Program B is presented by Dana Tai Soon Burgess Dance Company at Woolly Mammoth Theatre Company as part of AAPI Heritage Month. Program B features four works: Meditations (2008), the world premiere of Drawings in Space (2026), Khaybet-The Shadow (1999), and Sudden Snow (2025). Drawings in Space is a new work inspired by the life and art of Japanese American sculptor Ruth Asawa, whose looping sculptural technique Burgess connects to the continuous, undulating movements of dance. Sudden Snow, inspired by the paintings of abstract expressionist Helen Frankenthaler, includes interactive video design by Felipe Oyarzun Moltedo and costumes by Patricia Michaels and Sigrid Johanesdöttir.
