Love I Awethu Further is a world premiere poetic adaptation of Julius Caesar written by Susan Smith Blackburn Prize winner a.k. payne and directed by Tamilla Woodard, produced in association with Jamila Ponton Bragg. Set on a plantation that Mistress Catherine insists is a utopia of women, Callie dreams up a plan for freedom as a constellation of characters gathers around her including twin, lover, reader, seer, and ancestor. The work defies genre and gender expectations, presenting history as something unstable, collective, and still unfolding.
