Stars from the worlds of Broadway, television, R & B, cabaret, comedy, jazz, and country convened at The Town Hall on Monday, January 28 at 7PM to celebrate The 2008 Nightlife Awards.
R & B star Phoebe Snow, beloved actress Sandy Duncan, award-winning comedian John Mulaney, and acclaimed jazz performer Anat Cohen joined a cast that featured such famous talents as Lucie Arnaz, Bill Charlap, Bill Irwin, Marilyn Maye, Jessica Molaskey, John Pizzarelli, Carol Sloane, Sandy Stewart, Lari White, and more!
The event was hosted by Julie Halston and Charles Busch (Bruce Vilanch, originally slated to host, was unable to attend). The evening offered a stunning display of wildly diverse talents and was directed this year by a master of one-night only extravaganzas, Carl Andress.
The only award show without acceptance speeches (the winners perform to show why they were chosen) celebrated its sixth annual edition. The Nightlife Awards are chosen by twenty-eight members of the press and other experts who cover New York nightlife. The evening consists of performances by the winners as well as a number of special guest stars. For more information call 212-365-4345 or go to www.SiegelPresents.com
