Theater for the New City History

Theater for the New City (TNC) is a Pulitzer Prize-winning community cultural center that is known for its high artistic standards and widespread community service. One of New York’s most prolific theatrical organizations, TNC produces 30-40 premieres of new American plays per year, at least 10 of which are by emerging and young playwrights.

Theater For The New City To Present Leonard J. Lehrman’s SIMA And E.G.: A MUSICAL PORTRAIT OF EMMA GOLDMAN

Theater for the New City will present two operas by Leonard J. Lehrman, offering audiences parallel stories of Jewish survival and political activism. The productions include the New York City premiere of Sima and a revival of E.G.: A Musical Portrait of Emma Goldman. Both works will run in repertory and examine themes of trauma, identity, and resistance.
