Reagle Music Theatre of Greater Boston's 50th Anniversary Summer Season closes with The Music Man from August 2-12, 2018. The multiple Tony award-winning musical runs for 8 performances (including 4 matinees) at the Robinson Theatre, 617 Lexington St., Waltham, MA starring IRNE Award Nominee Mark Linehan as Harold Hill and Elliot Norton Award Winner Jennifer Ellis as Marian Paroo. Produced by Robert J. Eagle; Directed and Choreographed by Susan M. Chebookjian, who will restage the original Broadway and film choreography by Onna White; Music Direction by Dan Rodriguez.

The Wells Fargo Wagon is a-coming down the street and, from July 25th-August 19th, it'll be parked onstage of Farmers Branch's The Firehouse Theatre in their upcoming production of THE MUSIC MAN. Directed by Bruce Coleman, with music direction by Bryce Biffle and choreography by Bethany Lorentzen, the classic musical is sure to be a hot ticket.

Los Altos Hills will be alive with The Sound of Music this summer, when multi-award winning Foothill Music Theatre presents the Tony, Grammy, and Academy Award-winning musical. This beloved musical, set in Austria in 1938, follows novice Maria Rainer who becomes the governess for the von Trapp family, capturing the hearts of the seven children and their father, a widowed naval captain. As the Nazis occupy Austria, the family is forced make decisions which forever change their lives, fleeing their home in pursuit of freedom. Director Milissa Carey, music director William Liberatore, and choreographers Brett and C.J. Blankenship breathe new life into this classic tale of hope, love, and family. The Sound of Music will play July 19- August 5, 2018(press opening: July 20) at the Smithwick Theatre, I-280 & El Monte Road, Los Altos Hills. Drury Lane Theatre announces casting for its sultry summer drama, Tennessee Williams' Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, directed by Tony nominee Marcia Milgrom Dodge (2009 Broadway revival of Ragtime, Drury Lane's Smokey Joe's Cafe). Cat on a Hot Tin Roof runs July 5 - August 26, 2018, at Drury Lane Theatre, 100 Drury Lane in Oakbrook Terrace. The press opening is scheduled for Thursday, July 12 at 8:00 p.m.

The Grandview Carriage Place Players present Meredith Willson's classic tale. The Music Man follows fast-talking traveling salesman, Harold Hill, as he cons the people of River City, Iowa into buying instruments and uniforms for a boys' band he vows to organize - despite the fact he doesn't know a trombone from a treble clef. Performances are July 12 - July 15, 2018 at the Grandview Heights High School. Thurs - Sat @ 7:00 pm and Sun @ 2:00 pm. Tickets are $5 at the door. She attempts to civilize and marry off her six rowdy brothers-in-law, but her plan goes comically wrong. Featuring high-kicking dance numbers, heartfelt romance and soaring songs. Urban Stages' Board of Directors and founding artistic director Frances Hill celebrated 'The Magic of Theater by presenting the 2017 Lifetime Achievement Award to legendary actor Jim Date at their Gala Benefit. The event was held at the Boathouse in Central Park at 6:30PM on May 14, 2018. The award was presented by stage and screen star Simon Jones (Farinelli and the King, The Hitchiker's Guide to the Galaxy).
