Ferndale's Ringwald Theatre continues its season devoted to The Power of Words with the southeast Michigan premier of reasons to be pretty by Detroit's own Neil LaBute. All performances of reasons to be pretty will be held at The Ringwald Theatre 22742 Woodward Ave, Ferndale MI 48220. Performances begin on Friday, October 11 and play Fridays-Mondays thru Monday, Novermber 4. BroadwayWorld has a first look at the cast below!

After a successful run in 2011 at Chicago's About Face Theatre, The Ringwald brings the Michigan premiere of Philip Dawkins play, The Homosexuals, to Detroit. Filled with a dynamic cast of local actors, The Homosexuals is directed by local favorite, Annette Madias (The Rise and Fall of Little Voice, The Normal Heart). The Homosexuals plays November 16 - December 10, 2012 at The Ringwald Theatre, 22742 Woodward Avenue in downtown Ferndale. Meet the cast in the photos below!

The Detroit Repertory Theatre's 2012/2013 Season will have its Champagne Opening and Celebration on November 1, 2012. The highlight of this 56th Opening Night at the Rep will be the World Premiere farce, A PARADISE OF FOOLS by Michael E. Wolfson. BroadwayWorld has a first look at the show below.

Previews began August 24 for the Playwrights Horizons production of DETROIT, the New York premiere of the much-heralded new play by Obie Award winner Lisa D'Amour. Two-time Tony Award winner John Cullum (for Shenandoah and On the Twentieth Century; additional nominations for Urinetown, 110 in the Shade and On a Clear Day You…; Wilder at PH), Darren Pettie (This and Spatter Pattern at PH, Butley on Broadway, "Mad Men") and Sarah Sokolovic (Drama Desk Award nominee for The Shaggs at PH) will star in the New York premiere of DETROIT, a new play by Lisa D'Amour (2011 Pulitzer Prize finalist for this play, 2011 Steinberg Playwright Award winner for her body of work, Obie Award winner for Nita and Zita). Also in the cast are Oscar and Tony Award nominee Amy Ryan (Gone Baby Gone, "The Office," On the Mountain at PH) and Emmy Award nominee David Schwimmer ("Friends," "Band of Brothers," PH debut). Directed by Obie Award winner Anne Kauffman (Maple and Vine at PH, The Thugs, Stunning, Naked Angels' This Wide Night), previews will begin Friday, August 24 at Playwrights Horizons' Mainstage Theater as the first production of the theater company's new season. The Obie Award-winning Clubbed Thumb recently held a kickoff for its 17th annual program of new plays by emerging writers -- SUMMERWORKS 2012, running May 26-June 30 at the HERE Arts Center in Soho.
