To celebrate the 20th anniversary of THE LION KING in London, commuters at King's Cross Underground Station have been able to experience the show up-close, with surprise performances, costumes, masks and puppets from the show on display, giveaways, and more!

This October marks the 20th anniversary of The Lion King at London's Lyceum Theatre. Premiering way back in 1999, the show has entertained over 16 million people and remains the West End's bestselling stage production and the sixth-longest-running West End musical of all time. To celebrate the show's roaring success (pardon the pun), BroadwayWorld spoke with George Asprey, who plays Scar, about being the villain and why he feels the show is still so well loved after all these years.

Disney Theatrical Productions today announced that new cast will join the London production of THE LION KING from May 2016. Alongside changes in the ensemble cast, Nicholas Afoa is to take on the role of Simba at the Lyceum Theatre.

Disney's award-winning musical The Lion King will be holding open auditions in London for roles in the West End production which is celebrating 16 triumphant years at London's Lyceum Theatre. Auditions for male and female singers will take place on Saturday 7th November at Bloomsbury Central Baptist Church, Shaftesbury Avenue, while auditions for male and female dancers will take place on Saturday 21st November at Moonshot Centre, New Cross. Morning registration is at 10am and it is advised that auditionees arrive early. The afternoon registration is at 1.30pm.
